Seriously--how badly are people brainwashed by MSM? Literally 30% or more of the people I am canvassing are saying that they love RP's platform, believe in him and his policies, and prefer him for President over all the others. They all say they would vote for RP if he could win. The irony, of course, is that if everyone who said that, voted for RP--he would win by a landslide.

This is the point that needs to be attacked.

Maybe you can start the conversation saying that 30% of all people that you talk like Ron Paul but that he is unelectable. Tell them that everyone of them will be voting for Ron Paul and therefore they should too. Or something like that.

This is the first thing most people say to me when I talk to them about Ron Paul.

"..but he can't win"
"...there is no way he could win."

blah blah blah

I get so pissed off when someone says something like that. Some people are just so stupid it can't be helped.

make sure you take note of these people and visit them again before Saturday.
To get past their heady, intellectual resistance you need to appeal to their heart and emotions.
Scrap all platform arguments and cry or something.

I don't get it either, I'm just reporting what I'm hearing. How to open peoples eyes to this??

"Great, because he can win! He's already beaten the Guiliani in Iowa, Wyoming, and Michigan and he was the front-runner in the National polls just last month!"

"Besides, when you watch your favorite football team play do you say 'I'd support them but they just can't win'? Of course not, you support them because they are your favorite team. If Ron Paul is your favorite candidate then you should support him too."

My Favorite Homemade Sign:

Don't Let the Media Choose

Carry it around with you when you're canvassing.

These people need to be politely reminded that if their view that Ron Paul can't win is based upon the media polls then they are voting for who the media tells them is electable.

So... have you tried telling them what you have observed?
I'm trying to figure out the best way to explain in my letter for passing out to my SC precinct that if people would just vote for the one they like, the one they like might just WIN.

tell them it's the delegates that matter, and everyone will have split delegates when they get to the convention, and so the more delegates RP has the more chance he really has to win. Tell them to vote for RP's delegates!!

Why not show voters the total votes cast so far during these primaries and caucuses.

Ron Paul is 4th in total votes cast and way ahead of Guliani and Thompson.

This is why I think Edgar J Steele is an asshole.

The one thing we fight day in and day out are people who say "I like him but he can't win so I won't vote for him" and asshole tries to nail the coffin shut with his dipshit rant.

That said, I use the "Primaries are the time to vote your conscience." argument. It seems to work the best.

There's a simple solution to this:

Tell THEM what you just told US! IF they can realize this, they will vote for him.

Tell them about the secret strategy. Do it in very hushed tones and make them swear to keep the secret.

Tell them .... Well if you quit doubting it and actually voted for him he would be that much closer.

Simple point to make: What do you have to lose?

A surefire way to keep him from winning is to not vote for him.
