ok im a new-B,now this athiest guy says states rights are a sham, why is this?

i beleive in individual rights and i thought the founders disliked democracy, also i thought i was supposed to be responsible for myself?

i think i read some where that the states usually have ratified the bill of rights, into their constitutions, does this provide for individual rights? and cover the issue? i am lost.

the only reason i ask is this type of message is likley to spread ,and id like to get a clear answer.

Hey Tommy!

Keeping things simple here and with regards to State's rights: they were put in place to limit control of arbitrary decisions that the federal government was inevitably inclined to make. Such decisions are usually violate the constitution. Regardless of the pretext, state's rights were designed to limit the power of the federal government. It's much easier keep a state in check when it comes to your individual rights than it is the federal government.

so basicly individuals best chance at remaining free,is to maintain the state by being active, and if the state or majority rules we can take our rights or perhaps could move to a different state ,would this take care of individuals rights in a redundant way?

hope i got it right.

thanks for responding also.
