Campaign releases NEWEST AD!!!! (+$1 million combined buy for next 3 ads)

I'm pretty sure they are going to hit him on immigration, with Gary, try to get Ron to respond to Gary in a way that won't be taken well by GOP primary voters. Last time they had Gary in it was drugs and prostitution, remember?

I don't think Ron will take that bait. He'll say what he needs to say and drop it. Drugs and prostitution was a long time ago when nobody was paying attention.

Great idea for ad. But, it should be more dynamic. More effective. I don't know - for a whole minute ad, it don't say as much as it could. Compare this ad with "Plastic man" one minute ad. I can't avoid feeling that team that made "Plastic man" ad would make much more effective one minute ad about Ron's military service and support he gets both from active duty military and from veterans.

This one is for older folks. Ya know...the ones the youngsters around here are worried about getting on our team.

He TRIED not to take the bait on drugs and prostitution, tried shifting to other states rights, tried starting with 'well I'd let the states' do it', but they did follow up questions specifically to pin him onto a nonissue philosophical point. This is Fox.

Great ad! It's emotional, downplays the "extremist" tag, and targets seniors. It's a perfect ad for its intended target.

And for those of you complaining...remember, this isn't an ad for RP supporters, but for a demographic that we're struggling in.

I'm proud to see my donation dollars being put to wise use!

Wise words.

Let me frame it this way. On a recent public relations trip I took, I was at a booth giving information about our organization. It's a room full of people and you only have about one to two minutes to say what you need to say before the person moves to the next booth. I have a brochure in my hand with cold, hard facts. Now I can either choose to restate the facts in that brochure or I can give a personal testimony to lead them to want to investigate more. The emotional stories are infinitely more effective. It gets people (especially women) emotionally invested. When I stated facts about our organization, people seemed somewhat interested but merely thanked me and moved on. When I gave the emotional appeal, people stop and ask more questions. They realize, "ok this isn't just some run-of-the-mill non-profit. These are the real people whose lives are being touched!" Two women even broke down in tears as I was telling the story!

So which is more effective? Sure, we can complain that the $1m didn't get Ron Paul's record out there, but that's not the goal. Emotion will always trump facts when marketing. And when you have a distracted TV audience, it's perfect to grab their attention and get emotionally invested.

You worry way too much. Ron's been receiving coaching, right? Either way, people need to freak out on here much less. Just be cool.

For all you young 'uns that don't like the military tie ins. These men were probably drafted and tossed into a meat grinder of which amongst their pals they were one of the few to survive. Then..then the gubmnt doesn't honor them with the least they could do to memorialize their service and show without speaking they were an honorable and brave soldier who did what they had to do given the inhumane circumstances they were cast into. But no..they didn't. Ron got them the well deserved honorifics that the military brass overlooked. This means alot to folks like these. They aren't braggarts and just want recognition for a tough job they could be dead for having done.

Best Regards

Great ad - going straight for the seniors/vet/military vote! It says "compassion" - an image we need more of.

Guys I put this up on my facebook and I am getting positive feedback from all (and by all I mean five so far but the others are definitely taking note on the positive feedback from the others validating it) my military buddies. It may not work for the normal RP voter but its working on its intended target. We can't win if we don't expand our base.

Very touching ad. Will go over well with the 50+ crowd, especially in FL.

DAMN that's a fine ad! I had to donate after seeing this. It's all I can give until the next paycheck.

I know we just went through 2 moneybombs, but these are ridiculously powerful ads. Donate anything you can: pocket change, sofa change, etc. Show the campaign and RevPac how much you value their work. The air time won't be cheap.
