Campaign for Liberty solicitations

Yeah, so I'm a little down about this whole Romney being nominated thing but I'm still optimistic about the future. That being said, I received at least the eighth identical e-mail from CFL tonight and it put me over the top. I just sent the following feedback, which I'm sure will be promptly discarded.

Re: Fw: Effective Immediately...

I really do not want to unsubscribe from your mailing list. I'm passionate about the Campaign for Liberty, but for God's sake, this is at least the eighth time I've received this exact e-mail and all you people send are solicitations for donations. I've donated over $1000 to the Ron Paul campaign and the campaign for liberty, which is WAY MORE than I can afford and more than I've ever donated to anything else.

I don't mind the occasional request for support, but EVERY F*&*ING MESSAGE is asking for donations. Take some of the money you have raised and do something constructive. Sends us updates on all of the great things you are doing, all of the politicians you are supporting who are fighting the good fight, but seriously, if all you are going to do is send scripted messages from the Pauls and ask me for money four times a week then please, take your campaign and shove it up your a$$.

Funny you should post this now. Not 30 seconds ago they just tried to call me. Twice. I can't answer it right now though.... I guess they are hitting up their members hard right now?

C4L does not get involved in campaigns, does it? With an organization like C4L, I would expect every email to have an ask request or 2 somewhere in the email. However, most emails should be about something else and then include the ask request as an addition. That's my take on it, anyway.

Sure, I could see them sending e-mail updates on C4L activities, events, and sponsorships. I'm just sick and tired of these canned e-mails from John Tate, Ron, and Rand with nothing but twenty links to asking to "make your best donation now". Put something at the bottom of the message with a donate now button and call it a day, otherwise don't e-mail me the same thing a dozen times.

+1. I'm tired of John Tate. He and Benton should not be working for the Paul's or anything to do with Liberty. Those two are just looking out for themselves.

I agree. I wish they would do more to build the brand. It feels like the money they receive is just being recycled into fundraising solicitations to the same donors instead of looking for ways to expand their membership.

It costs money to expand their membership, it's called "prospecting". And the best place to get donations, is from people who have already donated which is why they continue to ask (marketing 101).

Have you met either of them? Have you worked for either of them personally? Do you even know what they do?

I understand it costs money to expand their membership but what are they doing to expand their membership besides soliciting donations from the same donors? They're not utilizing their website or social media to do it.

They have ways of prospecting that do not involve social media; renting other lists for example.

No, but I've read about 10,000 of their messages, and they're all the same.

After a while, I kinda/sorta get the idea of what they represent. If this ISN'T what they represent, then they ought to start writing their own emails.

All I can say is that I hope C4L succeeds because the liberty movement desperately needs an organization to connect like minded people together. They just need to try something different. I feel like I've gotten the same emails for the last two years. Yes, that's how they raise money and they do it because its successful, but is it a success when all the money is spent on fundraising resources? That's the problem Michele Bachmann and Allen West have. They're extremely successful at raising money (over $10 million each) but its because they spend so much on fundraising emails and letters. They're usually left with not much for their campaign. I hope this isn't C4L's problem.

When was the last time you spoke to your state CFL coordinator?

I don't think I ever have. Isn't that the problem? I'm signed up to C4L yet I have no idea who my state coordinator is. Why aren't they leading me to my state coordinator in their emails? Why isn't my state coordinator emailing me?

Edit: I just logged into C4L, clicked on CA and see that my coordinator is Deborah Wells yet there's no way to contact her.

I'm about ready to unsubscribe as well.

I'm waiting to see what Ron does with what. I'm willing to contribute to whatever is sending him to campuses and funding (after he leaves congress) Texas straight talk, for example. I hope he keeps some of his congressional staff who know him and his issues well But I'm not sure what organization that will be.

You forgot to underline, highlight and add a PS.

Yes, there website leaves a lot to be desired, but pick up the phone tomorrow and call CFL HQ and ask them to be put in contact with your state coordinator and tell them you want to help!

Ill do that but the question still remains. Why are their emails not telling me how to connect with my state coordinator or why hasn't my state coordinator emailed me?

If we are going to self organize, Matt, we can do that right here.

The organization is supposed to provide a benefit.

I'm not saying it won't, it has been in mothballs. But you seem to be missing that point.
