By God He's Learning - Glenn Beck is Almost Down the Rabbit Hole!

Glen Beck's job is to heard the libertarian-leaning Republicans back into the fold. He's the Judas Goat.

Libertarian leaning republicans largely march to their own drum. We can't even agree on frivolous topics (which is a good thing) and we're going to be led around by the nose by Glenn Beck? Talk about futility. Ron Paul had trouble "herding" libertarians and now Glenn Beck is going to do the unthinkable??????? ROFL

I didn't say he would succeed. Think Mitt Romney calling for audit the fed during the election. Hahahaha.

Bachmann isn't that bad, certainly better than Snoot Swingrich and Rmoney.

Let me see if I understand you. Ron Paul was running. Beck supposedly said he wanted a "mind your business" foreign policy and domestic policy. He endorsed the two candidates that were as far away from those principles as possible, and you're defending that?

There are people not so steadfast as those of us here who could easily be led by someone like GB. Not all libertarian leaning republicans behave as you described. That's a stereotype. I know people who would consider themselves libertarian but haven't put a lot of thought into it and could be led astray by a character like GB. Just look at the success he's had. There's no doubt that propaganda works, as we've all seen, and GB is part of the propaganda machine. Don't make the mistake of thinking all "libertarian leaning republicans" are like you and like the people on this board because not everyone who considers themselves libertarian leaning would be on this board.

This isn't about us. This is about people asking where they can learn more, and us thinking, 'Well, let's see. Lew Rockwell? Maybe not for a beginner. Adam and the Man? Hardly. I suppose I could recommend Beck...'

This is a void we really need to fill.

You know, Ron Paul is starting a radio show. And as much as I can't stand Stossel, he at least has his philosophy right. Geraldo is better then Beck these days. Hey, I'm thrilled Beck is turning his audience onto Rand. But Beck isn't who I'd send people to.

Hmmm. It is a shame that I was unable to properly address and list my opinion when this thread was made. Seems to me a lot of very valuable information was missed out on, and now I feel so bad about that that I am obligated to address.

Fuck Glenn Beck.

That is all.

I can only hope that SOME people listening to Beck will go beyond Beck's "understanding" and truly learn about liberty. In that regard, I consider Beck to be beneficial to liberty at this point in time. If he turns out to be a snake (I'd say 50% chance) then we move on with hopefully more people than we started with due to his inadvertent promotion of the right ideas.

I'd say cool the criticism of him for now but watch him and listen. If he's a snake, he will say just enough truth to get thousands thinking and if he's for real, he will himself become more effective in promoting the message and of course, he will be fired...

I see Glenn Beck like Alex Jones. Both speak different languages, but can ultimately lead people to the right path.

Can? Maybe. Will?

He has beckstabbed us three times now, and always during election season, just as push came to shove.

What part of he's the Judas Goat do you not understand? Obvious troll is obvious. If the third time wasn't the charm, you're being intentionally blind.

At least Beck doesn't poison the well by taking good issues and mixing them with 9/11 truth and conspiracy garbage.

Edit: Someone who points out the fact that the foundational story for our current police state has holes in it big enough to fit the towers in is an enemy of liberty.

Someone who says he's for what we are for then endorses Bachmann and Santorum equals friend of liberty.

The sad thing is, I bet you are actually being serious.

How many people here are former neocons? If Glenn Beck wants to say something nice about Rand Paul, cool, I'm all for it. I just don't know why people are flipping shit over it. Beck is largely irrelevant.

Probably because there's twenty some odd threads about it with four or five new ones being created daily.

Another reason could be the majority here don't give two shits about what Glenn Beck has to say- on anything. Let alone libertarianism.

Another reason could be because quite a few remember Beck's beckstabbing ways.

Yup, it sure is.

If Beck were all that irrelevant, Medina might be governor of Texas. If Beck were all that irrelevant, there's no way he could have been the subject of so many threads. Saying the Propaganda Machine is irrelevant is ridiculous on the face of it. If it didn't work, GE and Westinghouse and all the Military Industrial Complex would never have become so heavily invested in it.

If Genn Bleck wants to say something nice about Rand Paul, I'm all for it too. But if you go around telling people to tune in to this Judas Goat, you're either our enemy or a damned fool. And that's what all this is about.

In addition to his less than admirable position on foreign policy, another place where Beck fails is on the question of sovereignty. Lincoln-worshipping flag-wavers are starting to call themselves "libertarians", I'm sure in no small part due to Beck's efforts. A libertarian, at a minimum, recognizes that the U.S. as organized under the Constitution is not an inviolable arrangement; where states recognize injustices and consider it their "right" to withdraw, Beck would see to it that the Union is preserved at all cost. Ideally, a libertarian recognizes that right on down to the individual, but Beck's rhetoric is of a nationalist, not of a libertarian.

...and this.

Owe you rep.
