And that is all that matters! The straw poll has obviously lost 100% meaning when there is no set procedure, rules, etc. that is followed. This has made the straw poll ultra meaningless. With all the reports we have gotten today, even in the counties where we fell short in the straw poll, we have won the delegate count. We will send the most delegates to district conventions.....Washington is a bigger prize than Michigan.

There were a couple of money bombs before that week. In fact there was a few with the mini-ones. There was one for Carol's Bday, the anniversary, NOBP, and probably another one in there I am missing.

I would hope that the money would go to Congressional races but I doubt it.

Unfortunately it is much better to focus on Congressional races then the campaign at this point, but instead there is less focus on the campaign and none on the races.

This is true :D

I wish more of Pauls supporters understood how the system worked and the import of the delegate process > straw poll.
Because honestly if the grassroots stick with Paul through the whole race we'll be solid. We're making good progress but some of the 'down in the dumps' stuff I hear concerns me that more supporters than should are still listening to the MSM narrative and buying the whole "we need a straw poll win" thing. Yes it would be beneficial to have, yes I'll keep working to get one because of how it could help no it is not make or brake when we're racking up these delegates this way.

the grassroots calling effort did an amazing job and if the system is spread to the upcoming caucus states we can grab some very strong showings, expand or delegate lead over Newt and Rick and who knows maybe even pull out a straw poll bonus. :) ;)

If we stop believing in and fighting for Liberty because the MSM tells us we can't win... well what's left after that?

I realize that the mission is going after delegates, but considering that most delegates aren't awarded until May-June, what will we do to keep steady numbers and prevent a Romney path to the nomination before the convention until then? We're polling 3rd-4th in almost every primary and needed a win before Super Tuesday to gain some attention.

That's just my opinion though

What worries me is the straw poll is what seems to matter most to the undecided voters. They are just waiting to jump on someones bandwagon.
 
Like I said. I have gone through CNN's calculator and even giving Romney his delegates based of the meaningless straw poll numbers from the past and even out in the future in unbound states, especially....he is going to have to get LUCKY to reach 1144.

That's not fair. They were much further apart last time. Now there's one every two weeks. Lots of people are maxed already.
 
In my county, Romney won the straw poll with about 40%.

However, Ron Paul CLEANED UP on delagates with almost 75% of the delegates!!!!! If we can use the same organization at our county conventions, we'll be at almost 90% going into the State Conventions.
 
Yes, Delegates are the end game.....but now with the Campaign having a record of 0 - 13 two truths are settling in. One is that are lack of victories is affecting Donations which are not great, but even worse NOW apathy is starting to set in across the RP Nation and that is even evident here on the RP Forums. Decreasing Donations and waning enthusiasm spell big trouble.

We need a WIN, it builds HOPE and MOMENTUM!!! Yes delegates are the real end game, but we need five wins just for Ron to be nominated at the Convention in August. All of us know in our hearts we NEED A WIN!!!

when the product is good (translate: Ron Paul wins caucuses and primaries), money pours in
when the product is f#$%ing shit (translate: campaign can't stick a thumb up its ass on 3 tries and never wins anything), money dries up

Doesn't help when the prospective voter says I like Ron but he's not going to win and I ain't got SHIT to say back.

I long since fired Ron Paul as an effective campaigner. That's what free market would do, that's what I'm doing. So if you're with official campaign, and Ron Paul still hasn't fired you, and you haven't won a single state, don't expect ANYTHING from me. Delegates are nice, but we need Ron in the news and he isn't there. Not because Illuminati are blocking him, but because news reports, you guessed it, news, and Ron ain't got none.

I keep hearing it over and over and it still makes no sense.

The people vote. Delegates are assigned according how people voted.

Are we really deluding ourselves (again) that just because an assigned delegate is a RP supporter that they are going to go against what the people voted for, what, in some states they are required by law to do, and that the GOP machine is going to allow that to happen?

I've been saying since before NH that if Paul does well delegate wise in most states and places highly (and takes one of) the following three states NY/CA/TX things work out. This is what I am still saying now. I like the looks of CA more as the race goes on :) until that point the only thing that could do serious harm to Pauls tract to the Nomination is for supporters to buy into the MSM view that the straw poll is the one that counts. Placing first in the state in delegates is more of a win than first in the straw poll. Yes the straw poll would help us break more into the mainstream with some undecided, yes that could really be a boon to the effort... but why are Paul supporters HERE treating the straw poll as if it counts outside of converting the less politically savvy?
Why is it so often that individuals here rank a state as "a win" or "a loss" based on the straw poll and without providing any context?
Santos three state "win" helped him, but since that "win" was made of pure straw poll he walked away with the attention and Ron Paul walked away with the stronger claim to the Nomination.
Can we please keep some perspective here? Straw Poll matter, but they matter less than delegates. We don't have to be able to convince or explain that fact to those who aren't on board, in fact it's likely we won't be able too (hence why straw polls help us) but for us to give up or get bogged down by the same misconception that the MSM is selling to them? Well that's just sad :( (and I don't mean that with any sarcasm)
I dearly hope Liberty minded individuals are made of sterner stuff than to buckle under a media blackout... but only time will tell.

No. We are not deluding ourselves.

In washington the Vote is just a straw poll.

The delegates are not selected based on the straw poll vote.

In my precinct, the straw poll went 56% to Romney, but Paul got 100% of the delegates. Myself being one of them. This is because we had a delegate selection strategy, and the Romney people had no organization at all.
