Yes, since 2008, I was responding to the allegation that he has done nothing since the Presidential election. If you'd like me to get into everything he did for liberty before 2008 but after his Congressional career, I can and will. But I was responding to a very particular comment.
I am tired and I got to get up soon so I won't spend much time on this. I cited his recent behavior as being indicative of an unreformed nature. Not too many people change their stripes this late in life and his actions about not wanting to be in the company of the likes of the third party candidates spoke volumes as to just how highly he esteems his own self worth. As such he will be a poor representation of his constituency if it conflicts with said interest.
""I'm not interested in third parties getting the most possible votes," Barr told the cameras. "I'm interested in Bob Barr as the nominee for the Libertarian Party getting the most possible votes." In a further insult, Barr said he would permit the vastly more popular Paul to be his vice presidential running mate"

Hey thanks for the bone Barr, Dr.Paul can run second to you!!! LOL!!!!
Bob Barr is interested in Bob Barr not liberty. He is a washed up has been desperately trying to reinvent himself. It is fine if someone points out the desperation when Romney pours tons of money to buy an election but somehow when Barr does it as a Libertarian we are supposed to believe he is somehow virtuous? Oh please!
Well since you yourself date the previous incident in question to 1999 (I actually thought it was older than that! LOL!!!) then do tell when did he become such a champion for the wholesale rights of the individual (rather than those few he feels he can champion) and what led to this great change...
Nope wasn't in 2002:

You keep trying to reinvent Barr's image. Best of luck!
Bob Barr is an ex-CIA drug warrior patriot actor.
Also, those of you who claim he's for drug legalization, he has explicitly said he's against the legalization of crack.
If he thinks the State has the right to tell me I can't smoke rock, he apparently doesn't think I own my body.
I didn't say he was Ron Paul or that he was a radical libertarian. But his rhetoric is at least as good, or better, as Rand Paul's. His actions, too, have proven he isn't just in it for himself.
His actions!? Look at his voting record! It's atrocious!
Obviously, because his voting record precedes his conversion to Libertarianism. This would be akin to criticizing Walter Block for being a socialist in college.
Besides, Barr's record as a Congressman certainly wasn't pro-liberty, but it wasn't the worst there was. Fiscally he was pretty good, so he understand part of the message.
How is voting for the Iraq War and the War on Drugs "pretty good" fiscally?
YouTube - Bob Barr FOX News Sunday w/ Chris Wallace 06/29/2008
1) Voted for the Patriot Act
2) Voted for the Iraq War
3) Introduced legislation to define marriage as strictly between a Man and Woman
3) Introduced legislation to ban medical marijuana
That's all you need to know about Barr.
