Just curious but...will the blimp make it to Boston for the tea party or not? Because if it doesn't I have a feeling that it will see a huge decline in interest and donations!

So is no one else worried that this will make some people see the blimp as a failure? Plans to dump tea and all that jazz...

No it's definitely not a failure. It's going to get huge coverage and millions will see it. It's a great publicity stunt and it would have been nice to have it at Boston, but we can't control the weather

Some people did. But you can't please everybody, unfortunately. We just have to deal with what we have. We're still getting a lot of publicity from it.

I didn't say I look at it as a failure but I am worried that some people had great expectations for Boston.
It seems to me to be merely a very vocal minority, not a general opinion. A larger number of people might be somewhat disappointed, but not to the point of calling it a failure, probably more in line with your viewpoint, from the sound of it. In the end, I suggest we remain optimistic, and things will turn out quite well. In this situation, realism sides more closely with optimism, not pessimism. That's my opinion, at least.

Disappointment, but that is all.

Appears the weather will be so bad, no one would be outside to see it anyway. . .

16th will be a GRAND Day!!!!

things worked out for the best anyways

woulda sucked to have the blimp up there with 10 inches of snow, freezing rain, ice, and strong winds

we are much better off this way... much better - this is far from a disappointment or failure

It was a actually kind of unrealistic to expect a blimp to travel from NC to Boston to be there on a specific day in the winter. Weather in the NE is very unpredictable this time of year.

I heard from people I know in Boston that things were so bad there on Thursday, that I suspect we should be happy that the Tea Party commemoration can even happen at all. Sunday's weather is going to be better than feared, but it still isn't going to be the kind of weather where anyone will want to stay outdoors a second longer than they have to. Remember, too, that people in Boston are very used to seeing blimps all the time because of Fenway Park and it wouldn't be a huge novelty for them.

Here is a weather prediction for the Sunday that I pulled off Boston.com:

Sunday...Not as cold. Snow in the morning...then rain and freezing rain in the afternoon. Snow may be heavy at times in the morning. Snow accumulation of 3 to 4 inches. Highs in the mid 30s. Northeast winds around 15 mph with gusts to around 30 mph. Chance of precipitation near 100 percent.

I sense a lot of negative feelings among the group....maybe i'm naive because I've been a reader and only a recent commenter, BUT SUCK IT UP AND ON TO VICTORY!

The blimp was a blip, and we can raise spirits in new and creative ways! WHAT ABOUT BANNERS AT THE PATRIOTS GAME ON SUNDAY?????

Besides, up here in Mass, a little cold and snow is a yawner; we would have been out in DROVES FOR THE BLIMP!!
