Does anyone like the idea of running (at least) 1 national commercial during the convention? the campaign never bought any national ads - and i am pretty sure that not one ran in my state. it would be cool for all of us RP supporters to see the same commercial at the same time (as well as the rest of the people watching the convention)

Actually, some commercials should run. Showing the media bias that occurred during the campaign!!!!!! Not asking Ron Paul to the debates, not showing his name on results, discounting his polling, anchors saying he's a kook, and show the large numbers of supporters that came to his campaign stops the media never covered, etc., etc. Ha Ha...beat them at their own game!!!
People will be shocked!!! And enlightened!!

A money bomb to fund national Ron Paul TV/radio ads frenzy?
This is part of the Operation St. Paul project. The idea is to pull select, short quotes from The Manifesto and put them on billboards around St. Paul during the convention. They would seem like ads for the book, but in reality we're putting these up for the national delegates to look at. We can try to get them on the sides of the buses and anything else we can think of.

There's already a thread about Manifesto quotes. Please add any there and be sure to include the page numbers, as they can appear on the billboard after the quote.
If we had 4-5 different billboards up of the same design, but with different quotes, it would be marvelous.
Help us fund these by donating to Operation St. Paul.
Somewhat of a similar topic, I would love to see a HUGE billboard across from the convention that said:
McCain is a Democrat
just ask -
Liebermann, Kennedy, and Feingold.
Or how about:
Minnesota is Ron Paul Country.

well - how much does ONE national primetime ad during the convention cost? :oA national TV ad campaign would literally cost up to $6 million to do it proper. We need to have a money bomb to fund Op. St. Paul first. We can get large ads on the sides of the city buses for $530 each (I'm pretty sure they have 60+ buses), the fronts for $165 each, and large back-lit marquees on the train platforms for $650 each.
This in addition to the billboards which are a lot more than that. I have the ChipIn goal set at $25K but in reality we need more like $50K to just do St. Paul proper. Can we set up a money bomb?? Someone set a date and let's do this!
I'm not trying to sabotage anyone's project. In fact I'm offering my objective advice to make it more effective so that we might actually have a chance of winning.So, use that Minor in marketing to launch your own project. Instead of trying to sabatoge ours.

Here is why:
What is the goal of this? To get delegates to vote for Ron Paul of course.
However the best way to convince these people is through one on one correspondence, and one-on-one conversation. A billboard is actually one of the least effective forms of advertising, especially for producing short-term results, just like the Blimp.
We can get a hold of these people individually. Sending them DVD's is a great idea. Writing them dozens of letters is even better. Calling them and talking to them is 2nd best. Buying them lunch and having a conversation with them is the most effective way to change them over to our side.
I have a minor in marketing, and the most effective sales / marketing actions are ones that are personalized and personal.
Putting these up is a lot more than just for the delegates. I know I said that in the OP but there actually more to it. I want the criminal liars and hacks running the corrupt GOP to feel our presence in St. Paul. And to remind them there time in power is short lived with us on their asses. To remind them, and all the delegates, that McCain is the worst possible candidate for endless reasons. I want them to have to see the billboards the entire time they're in the city with no way to "censor" our message. Not this time! It's also about media attention. When RP has his massive rally, and all the other things going on, these billboards will have our back, blasting the message 24 x 48 feet. If we get the funds, we can put the designs on up to 60 city buses. There are 100 other reasons to launch this campaign.
The city is going to be totally chaotic, but our message will still be felt LOUD AND CLEAR!
