Billboard designs for Operation St. Paul

The billboards are great. Keeping it simple is better. To be able to get the people thinking is excellent, and offers up the opportunity to talk one on one with people who need educating. DVD's help with their education. Studies have shown that 18% of one's business comes from their signs.

I love the idea of the digital boards right in their face as they go into the convention hall. It would be wonderful to have ALL 8 of those signs continually flashing Dr. Paul and his message, you know something along the lines of the old Burma Shave ads one used to read along a highway! "Got freedom?" Vote Ron Paul! Support Our Troops....They support....Dr. Ron Paul. Our government is sick...Call the doctor...Vote Dr. Ron Paul. The signs do not have to say what I just suggested but you get the idea. But just for the digital signs for one week would be 20,000 alone.

I love how the billboards are kept simple, just enough to poke at the sleeping voters brain and then saturate the buses and taxies, and benches with his picture.

Maybe for the Manifesto billboards Adam can get the publishers to foot the bill for them or at least a good portion of it.

A national tv ad would be awesome, but I am not holding my breath for that as we did not see one in our state of MI.

This really would be a boost to our morale, and a jab to the MSM.

It aint over til the fat lady sings!:)

That would be great if we had months and months to reach the delegates. Unfortunately they will all be in town for less than 2 weeks. Branding type of advertising DOESN'T WORK in a short amount of time like that.

No, it would be an even BIGGER waste of money than the RP Billboards.

You always have to ask yourself "what are you trying to accomplish? what are the goals of the ads?"

Remember you must segment and target your audience. That makes it real easy with this situation since there are lists of every single delegate already out there.

I want the criminal liars and hacks running the corrupt GOP to feel our presence in St. Paul. And to remind them their time in power is short lived with us on their asses. To remind them, and all the delegates, that McCain is the worst possible candidate for endless reasons.
I agree. But I think 110% of our attention should be focused on converting delegates, not simply making a point.

I respect your opinion Matt, but let's face it. At this stage in the process, no amount of grassroots advertising, books/DVDs being sent is going to change the outcome of the nomination group-think going to pathetic McCain. The machinery of the GOP will pull some illegal crap till the very end to prevent any such thing, and they have the lying scum in the MSM as allies. Hell it's very unlikely RP will even get a speaking spot! We've lost the war this time around, and most of these delegates are hardcore brainwashed neo-cons with their minds absolutely closed to Ron Paul and his supporters. I witnessed it first hand at our state convention and watched it happen at many others. How can you wake up someone when there's no one home?

The Op St. Paul campaign is about more than the delegates, as I stated a number of posts back. Let's at least make them have to face their consciences, make them feel uncomfortable in supporting McCain because deep down they know it's very wrong! Hell, if we convert some then great! Let's absolutely stir up as much trouble and make as much noise as possible!! Dissent!!!! Also rule nothing out....miracles can happen! The ad campaign will help with this.

Our real job lies in the future of the party and forcing out the old, corrupt guard.

If you believe in what we're doing, please donate!!

Our meet-up group is willing to send DVDs and copies of the Manifesto to every Michigan delegate on our list, however, the list does not come with phone numbers or addresses. Any suggestions?

I think their addresses should be public record with the State.

But if not, do research... start with www.anywho.com

I agree. I think we are converting future delegates more than present ones. People will see our furvor and tenacity.

I'm probably getting too ambitious, but a book bomb to coincide with the convention might be nice -- imagine if Ron Paul had the #1 book on the NYT bestseller list at the moment McCain is supposed to be the center of attention!

Ideally, it'd be nice if we could KEEP Ron Paul's book on the bestseller list untill then.

I don't think that will be a problem. Technically the list goes all the way to #35 (the paper publishes #1-15, but online you can get #16-35). I think this will certainly be one of the top 35 hardcover nonfiction books for a few more months.

But how sweet to hit #1 again right around the time of the convention.

Bump

We would need to do the book bomb on the week of August 17th, so that it's actually printed in the NY Times the week of the 31st.

It would be great to coordinate an influx of book purchases the week before the convention, so it goes back to #1 during the convention. Get everyone to buy a 2nd copy and give it to a library or a friend/family member.
