Beating Giuliani and Thompson in Michigan Feels Great!

It's sad that the media (I've been watching CNN for a few hours now) still discusses Thompson and Giuliani as if they're ahead of Paul. Pathetic.

I'm sorry to say this, but it seems like our standards for what constitutes success keep getting lower and lower.

Our standards, at least for those of us who truely understand this movement, is to spread the message Ron Paul is advocating. Win or lose, it is the message that needs to keep spreading, not the man.

We are trying our best to help Dr. Paul win in every state, but the fact that we have beaten Guiliani twice and Thompson twice, and Ron Paul is 4th in total votes of all the contests to date should tell you something about how far and how wide this campaign of freedom has spread.

Despite the MSM black-out, and MSM smear, and MSM belittlement, we the grassroots, has been able to do something truely amazing. And that is to keep the message of Peace, Prosperity, and Liberty alive, despite the overwhelming odds against us.

After South Carolina, these 4 candidates (Thompson - Huckabee - Romney - McCain) will have to make a decision. No Money left, so 1 of them will have to bow out, and that means we move up with Guiliani betting his whole campagin on Florida. If Guiliani loses Florida, he is done. So now another front runner is out. You can see how this will play out. They drop out, we hang in and move up.

Ron Paul has not spent any money and I think they are waiting to see how this plays out in South Carolina, Nevada, and Florida. Super Duper Tuesday is where the campaign is hedging its bet to move up into top tier contention among who ever is left.

Hang in there my friend. This is exciting stuff. St. Paul, Minnesota will be a madhouse with no clear front runner and the delegates there will face a decision. Who will they nominate ? I don't know about you, but I am planning to be there during the convention to make sure the delegates understand who I want nominated. 10, 20, 30 thousand Ron Paul supporters around that convention center will ensure our voices are heard. Be there !

I like your optimism, and I hope you're right.

BTW--I can honestly say I've never had anyone say "rubbish" to me. I've heard it in movies, but I didn't know anyone actually uses it in real life. Now I'm just waiting for some to exclaim, "Balderdash!!!!"

haha, if you noticed, I'm English, I like the word especially in conjunction with 'absolute'.....now, balderdash is completely unused, unfortunately.

Not bad.

Paul 54,341 6%
Thompson 32,092 4%
Giuliani 24,681 3%
Hunter 2,820 0%

Anyone knows total vote count ranking so far for the first three primaries?

On the contrary, we've COME UP since Iowa and New Hampshire. We've beaten two "top tier" candidates TWICE, and have recieved more votes than both of them put together. Considering the media blackout of Ron, and the grassroots nature of his campaign, we've done very well tonight.

GREAT POST!!! Thanks.

I'm not trying to offend.....I just don't think a 6% finish is that great just because it happens to beat a 4% finish and a 2% finish. We need more than 6% of the voting public to be on board with us.

We're getting there....there's still alot of states to go....this is not a sprint, its a marathon, as another poster commented earlier.

Congrats to MI for scoring a solid 4th. Next stop is a solid 3rd for NV. We in Alaska are shooting for first, getting people to show up to vote is 90% of the battle.

Exactly, and look at how a few of the 'top tier" candidates are running their campaigns like its a sprint. Now their campaigns are losing momentum and cash and they will hit the wall and be forced to drop out. I think the Paul people and the grassroots are doing a good job, sure there are things that could be better but to still be in it while we watch the others start dropping out will give us a second wind and narrow down the field making us more noticeable.

Did anyone really expect us to come this far?

Lets put it in perspective!!

We did not have help from the National campaign!!
We did not have T.V. ads!!
We did not have Ron Paul in Michigan!!
BUT...we beat Fred and Rudy COMBINED!!

This my friends is huge!! Imagine what an organized effort from the National campaign would have done!!
This is why I have Faith in Nevada!!
This is why as many of us should try and make it to Florida!!
Keep on FIGHTING!! we reached over 55,000 people in Michigan!!
That's over 80,000 people awakened so far in just 3 states!!
This means we are waking up MILLIONS across the nation!!
All on our own!! WE ARE WINNING!! Keep it up!!

GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!

Get outta here.

What are you talking about? We're doing better than the establishment expected. Perfect opportunity to break out the guns ($$$), and Ron Paul dominates in that department, with the exception of Romney. We're in great shape.

I know. This is all really tiring. I noticed that Giuliani's campaign is still trying to play up the "I didn't campaign in that state" card. And news networks are continuing to report this crap.

CNN said:
Despite receiving little support from Michigan, Giuliani was happy, according to Steve Forbes, the national co-chair of the Giuliani campaign.

Giuliani has largely skipped the early voting states and devoted his resources to Florida and the delegate-rich "Super Tuesday" states that hold primaries February 5.

"I think the McCain defeat tonight simply underscores how volatile this race is -- how fluid it is, and also underscores how wise Rudy Giuliani was to focus on Florida. We're going to do very well [in Florida]. That means he'll do well on February 5, and that means we're going to get the nomination," Forbes said.

Naturally, no comment from a Paul spokesperson about his (unsuspecting) 4th place showing or his chances in South Carolina, Nevada or Florida despite Judy and his campaign being a joke (even the big lazy basset hound conservative Thompson pulled in 8,000 more votes than Giuliani). You know, Ron Paul didn't campaign much in the state either and still came in 4th, having neither the name recognition nor the media coverage of Giuliani.

Unfortunately, this is not quite the time to start gloating. Because the media is in the business of freely turbo-charging ailing campaigns, it is about time for them to put some coverage behind Giuliani going into Florida, maybe even a little push into SC to get 4th. They will begin to suspect that Giuliani's wacky strategy "may just pay off," and before you know it, it does.

People in the UK say it nonstop. I even saw it in a contract (for trash). I lol'd. It's funny how they say schedule too. (I do construction consulting)
