--> ATTENTION! West Virginia GOP Winner Determined on 30 NOV<---

So theoretically, How many more Ron Paul supporters in WV need to STEP UP to give us the win in this state?

And is there anything us out of staters can do to help out.

What "county chairs for the Ron Paul Campaign"?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Oh, I see you live in a state where the campaign has actually set up a structure and hired/authorized people to work on their behalf. The rest of us aren't so lucky. Here, we have about five or six hardcore volunteers trying to make this thing happen with little to no guidance from the campaign and trying hold down real jobs while we do it.
hmm... this is troubling...

It's not all doom and gloom.

Gabriel McCall has developed a good relationship with the PCC and is increasingly getting cooperation from them.

I just talked to him a little while ago, and he tells me that the PCC volunteers are currently making phone calls and doing direct mailers encouraging people to register. We're working on getting the contact list from them so we can get in touch with people ourselves.

It'd sure help if there were an official campaign structure here, but we'll work with what we have.

My boss just asked me if I could tell those Ron Paul people to stop calling her. They received 4 automated phone calls yesterday about gun rights. Her husband owns a bunch of guns and has a concealed permit, so that's probably why.

Good to hear they are doing something.

4 calls in one day? When it rains, it pours! :D

Let's hope they don't overdo it and annoy the people we're trying to reach.

Can someone explain the delegate situation to me. I thought that whoever won the primary, the delegate is supposed to report that to the RNC. Is this not the case? Can the delegate lie? There should be checks and balances to prevent this.

There's 2 different types of delegates in WV, county delegates and national delegates. The county delegates are elected to go to the state convention to vote on which candidate gets to pick the national delegates to go to the RNC national convention. The national delegates are won at the state convention, but in order to win we have to have people running as county delegates so Paul has a voice.

Theoretically, the candidate with the most county delegates going to the state convention will win the state convention and in turn send their delegates to the national convention. This year, the majority of county delegates so far are uncommitted, meaning they don't have a presidential preference. This state convention could be a big drop down drag out fight for the national delegates.

Even if that's the case and the state delegates are selected by county delegates, shouldn't they (the state delegates) report to the RNC the candidate who has the most votes? If they don't do that, it's lying and our votes mean nothing.

Yes, that's how it works. If we get the most county delegates at the state convention, they do the roll call to vote on the candidate, and we win, Paul sends his list of national delegates to the RNC national convention. It's just like the electoral college.

That is so confusing. My head hurts.

No, that's what they call the volunteer coordinator for each candidates campaign in Iowa. And the official campaign likes to only deal with this one person and is reluctant to get too involved in MeetUp activities since they are not legally part of the official campaign. So meetup members need to be proactive to enlist the support of their State Ron Paul campaign - if there is none then contact the National office
