--> ATTENTION! West Virginia GOP Winner Determined on 30 NOV<---

Just FedEx'd my paperwork which will show up on Monday at the latest.

Good job. Thank you.

Also for those that are recruiting delegate voters, don't forget this link: http://www.wvgopconvention.com/onlinevoting/application.asp and make sure they sign up by the end of next week.

Yes. Also, it is up to each county to decide whether they also want to have a physical polling place open or a county caucus or some other means of voting in addition to the online voting.

Here in Harrison County, there will be a physical polling place open at the Clarksburg Senior Center on Saturday, January 12 from 10am-2pm. I volunteered to work on the credentials committee (checking voter registration cards and IDs as people come into vote) and the balloting committee (counting the ballots afterward).

I highly recommend that everyone find out if your county is scheduling something like this. If so, I encourage you to volunteer to work the poll in some capacity. We need people there to keep an eye on things and to show a Ron Paul presence.

Spirit,

Do you know who makes this decision? And how is the information about the decision disseminated to the registered voters?

Thanks!

So it doesn't matter who wins the voting but who has the most delegates? I ,too. wish I understood this stuff!!!!!

The voting is to elect delegates to the state convention. The delegates at the state convention will vote for their favorite candidate.

The winner of the state convention will appoint his own delegates to the national convention.

It's up to the Republican Executive Committee in each county. They are required to publicize it, but I'm not sure what the exact requirements are. Here they are going to run some newspaper ads and some radio ads.

You're in Berkeley County, right? Their website is here:

Yes, I'm in Berkeley County. Thanks for the link! I didn't even realize they had a separate website from the WV GOP site.

Less then 40 minutes and this thing is on page two. This shows the true importance of Delegates!!!!

Important threads like this might not fall off so fast if people understood more how the process works. Remember most of us are political idiots and have never participated in anything like this before.

Delegates for Dummies? Anyone care to write it?

OK W. Va. folks. I spent the happiest years of my life in South Charleston. I have not read this thread all the way through, but I want to help. PM me to let me know what an expat in the People's Republic of Maryland can do.

WV supporters Revolution or Protest you decide

Here are the latest numbers as I counted, feel free to double check me:

Mitt Romney 44
Fred Thomspon 40
Ron Paul 38
Rudy Guiliani 36

We are 6 delegates away from Romney!

What is holding you back from being a part of the REVOLUTION and registering as a delegate?

If you can't stomach being registered Republican, is it worse than seeing Guiliani/Romney/Thompson against Hillary or Obama?
Ron Paul laid his chips on the Republican side, if you're in, you have to ante up. It's now or never. We have a shot at this. But not without each and every single one of you and every single person you can convince between now and the end of next week to join us in a REVOLUTION this country has never seen before!

If it's the $25 fee, I ask you what is the price you would pay to restore the Constitution?
Is the Constituion not worth a night at the movies for two (not inlcuding dinner)?
Is your freedom worth the price of a dinner in a non-fast food restaurant for two(without the movie)?
A used video game?
A case of beer?
A round of golf?
A CD?
A half a tank of gas?

I am not a rich man, if I was I'd pay everyone's fee myself. But this is not the Romney campaign. We are not a slogan, a focus group vetted 52% majority, or a movement based on class warfare. Freedom isn't free. In WV, freedom costs $25 made out to the WVGOP. I wish there was another way, there isn't.

If it's the distance, can't get to Charleston on Feb 5th should we win, let me know. We have people dispersed out pretty well thoughout the state, we'll find a way.

If you are already registered, take some time this weekend and spread the word about the reception at Tomahawk's in St Albans Nov 28th 6pm. Post it on forums, make up a flier and pass it out, anything and everything you can think of to get the word out. I'd love to walk into the WVGOP office with a stack of delegate forms on the 29th and start planning the next phase.

This can be done, but the time is now. Easy to follow Instructions are now on a website, http://www.ronpaulwv.com/

Pass it along. For Freedom. For the Consttution. For our children growing up without fear of enemy unseen and everchanging.

Will you stand with the 38?

Attention! Urgent action needed!

The winner of the West Virginia GOP "primary" will be determined in the next 10 days.

This is because November 30 is the DEADLINE for people to register as delegates, and delegates will determine the winner of W.V., NOT an up-or-down vote.

I still don't understand how this works. If every single delegate was a Ron Paul supporter but every single "people's vote" was for Giuliani, how could Ron Paul win that state? Since the delegates have to vote at the national convention for the candidate whom the voters chose (Giuliani in this example)?

The 'peoples vote' is on the delegates themselves, when you log on Jan 1st thru 14th you will pick a slate of delegates. In Kanawha County, it'll be:

Delegate name Presidential Preference
Larry White Ron Paul
John Smith Ron Paul
Fred Johnson Rudy Guliani

and so forth. Everyone just votes for the delegates that have your presidential preference, i.e paul voters vote for Paul delegates. Whichever delegates win the most votes get to go to the state convention in each county. Kanawha might go Ron Paul, Boone might go Guliani, or they might split. The more delegates that win and get to go to the state convention, the more votes Paul will get there.

Ok, this makes sense. Thank you. One more question: how do I know that Larry White (for example) will *truly* vote for Ron Paul and not someone else when he gets to the state convention?

You don't, but at some point, you have to trust your fellow humans. In WV, the republicans aren't that organized to pull something like that. Paul supporters have been very 'under the radar' as far as the GOP establishment is concerned, the meetup organizers know many of the delegates or have had contact with them.
