--> ATTENTION! West Virginia GOP Winner Determined on 30 NOV<---

We need delegates in West Virginia!

Please keep this thread bumped!

We can WIN WEST VIRGINIA if we all work together!

At least 1 name is on the list now that we signed up Saturday. Many had to switch voter registration, so it may take a few days to appear.

The way they are doing the convention, if we can at least get the 3rd highest delegates, we'll make news that day. The convention will do a vote around 10am, if there's not a winner with over 50% of the vote, they take the top 3 names and schedule another vote. So we need to at least get past that first vote to make news.

The fact that we are close to Thompson and Romney who have paid state coordinators ought to be news in and of itself. Romney's visited a couple times, Tag's been here several times, and Thompsons trophy chick is going to talk to the legislature today.

You mean these Ron Paul supporters weren't already Republicans? Ugh. And WV is a closed primary state. People don't seem to realize that they actually have to do something, like register Republican, if they want Ron Paul to win.

And you can bet that the Ron Paul supporters are stubborn (in a good way) enough not to change their vote (if there are more rounds) no matter what happens :D

This comment was just to bump the thread up

WV is a little different, it's 60 to 65%% democrat, but our democrats are essentially republicans, pro-life and pro-gun. Unions are big here, and the biggest employer in the state is county and state government. We have big daddy Byrd bringing in the pork every year, so it's an uphill battle for any republican to get any kind of support.

I've personally contacted all 200 Meetup members in the state, as well as 50 Myspace and 20 Facebook supporters.

The problem is that 270 people isn't enough. Everyone needs to be informed. Everyone who's ever donated to Ron Paul or signed up on his website that's from W.V. E-mails have been sent out, but no one pays attention to those half the time.

We need to start making phone calls.

The campaign has something coming at them tomorrow.

It's me, and you don't want me on your back.

EDIT: Oh yea, I just drove back home from West Va and I will be showing up at headquarters tomorrow if need be.

I support this message. Go get 'em, Brandon! :) Thank you.

All the county chairs for the Ron Paul Campaign should be able to get the contact information for all the latest donors to the Ron Paul official campaign. We got a list some time ago from the State campaign Office. But not a recent one. Keep bugging the official campaign to get them to release to County Chairs - email and phone number lists needed.

well over half of our Ron Paul supporters still have not registered Republican.

What "county chairs for the Ron Paul Campaign"?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Oh, I see you live in a state where the campaign has actually set up a structure and hired/authorized people to work on their behalf. The rest of us aren't so lucky. Here, we have about five or six hardcore volunteers trying to make this thing happen with little to no guidance from the campaign and trying hold down real jobs while we do it.

Attention! Urgent action needed!

The winner of the West Virginia GOP "primary" will be determined in the next 10 days.

This is because November 30 is the DEADLINE for people to register as delegates, and delegates will determine the winner of W.V., NOT an up-or-down vote.

West Virginia is an important state because it will be the first state to announce it's winner on Super Tuesday, February 5th, thus affecting the outcome of other states still in voting, such as California on the West Coast.

Imagine if Ron Paul could WIN a seemingly unlikely state? IS THIS POSSIBLE!?!?

Yes. But we need a massive effort to inform people. The current delegate count in West Virginia:

Fred Thompson
45

Mitt Romney
41

Ron Paul
31

Rudy Giuliani
26

John McCain
6

Mike Huckabee
6

Duncan Hunter
4

Uncommitted
131

Currently, Ron Paul delegates only make up 7.8% of the entire county-at-large (regular GOP members) delegation. There are 29 county-at-large RP delegates out of 372 total county-at-large delegates. We have the potential to fill every county-at-large delegate slot, BUT ONLY IF WE TAKE ACTION AND INFORM.

Please post here if you are willing to help contact Meetup members about becoming delegates. You can refer them to:

http://www.ronpaulwv.com/

I need people to help me contact W.V. Meetup members with messages specifically tailored towards them and their location (for example, if they state they are from Hampshire County, inform them that Ron Paul needs 5 supporters to run as delegates in Hampshire County).

Any takers?

I also need people to help me bug the campaign about letting us phone bank West Virginia Ron Paul supporters using the telephone #s they voluntarily gave online at RonPaul2008.com. This is important. Anyone with campaign contacts? If we could get a ph# list of RP supporters in WV, it would be VERY easy to make the calls because they are KNOWN Paul supporters. And we could get enough delegates to WIN the state.

It's all about voter mobilization.

You know that.

Now take action.
