Dear Texans,
Tomorrow, the Texas House Public Safety Committee will be holding an open hearing on HB 1893 which would allow for concealed carry on campuses throughout the state. The committee meeting will be at 2:00 pm tomorrow, March 30th, at the capitol building in room E2.014. Open testimony will be allowed, and I intend to be there and testify in support of this resolution.
I ask that if you happen to be in the Austin area or know others who will be, to join us for the committee meeting. If you will not be able to attend, that is perfectly fine as well. If you would still like to contribute, it is my understanding that you can type up a paragraph or so addressed to the members of the Texas House Public Safety Committee telling them how you feel about this important bill, and if you send it to me along with a separate amendment, signed and scanned with permission, I can register your opinion with the committee officially.
It is very important that we have as much support in this effort as possible. The UT Student Government is planning a massive mobilization project to protest this resolution and urge the committee to kill the bill. The more support we have, the higher the chances that this important bill will carry on to be voted on in the state legislature.
The more positive opinions we can gather, the stronger voice we will have. If you wish to send me a letter of your support, be sure that it is signed and scanned along with a separate signed and scanned page that gives me permission to register your opinion. I will print out your opinions and deliver them to the committee. With your help, I will do my best to represent the cause of liberty.
**If you wish to assist, you must do so by the end of tonight please, as I must have time to print and compile all letters for tomorrows hearing. In addition, if anyone has experience testifying in front of an open committee, advice is welcome, as I have never done this before.
Thanks in advance for your help,
Adam Rosen
