Atheist Ron Paul supporters

There are plenty of them here. I lean towards atheism, although I believe in some form of spirituality I'm not sure of a deity. Therefore I'm agnostic, I don't really know.

I use "atheist" loosely. I don't think people should be defined by what they don't believe.

I'm an atheist, I guess. But I get along great with Christians like Ron Paul who respect people's beliefs and agree on the importance of liberty.

I really can't believe any thinking man can call themselves an Atheist. The only way to be an Atheist is to know all things. It's an arrogant position to take. Why not be more humble and simply say you do not know - an Agnostic. I lose respect for a person quickly that claims to be a true Atheist the same as when I meet a "true believer". There's really no difference between, they are both religiously zealous about their beliefs.

I'm an atheist leaning agnostic.

The two terms aren't related.

Atheist = Without a belief in any God or Gods

Agnostic = A person who advances the position that God's existence is unknowable.

One can be an agnostic atheist(i.e. one who does not believe in God, but also hold's the existence of God is ultimately unknowable), or an atheist who leans towards the position of agnosticism, but atheists and agnostics are on different axes.

Sorry if this sounds like a lecture(at all), just putting it out here for the thread.

Personally, I am agnostic, and in regards to theism, lean towards atheism, but keep my mind open.

See my post below about agnostics. You are confusing an "atheist" (one who does not hold a belief in God) with someone analogous to an "anti-theist" (one who would advance the position that God does not exist). The majority of atheists simply do not hold any belief in God, because they do not see any evidence. They tend not to make positive cases for God's non-existence.

I thought atheist was defined as someone who doesn't believe in God. I don't claim to know everything, but I don't believe there's a God, just as I don't believe in unicorns. Saying there are no unicorns is not a claim to know all things. If convincing evidence presents itself, I'll change my mind.

I think what they mean, and what I mean, is that although I admit knowing whether God, a god, or gods exist is unknowable, we lean towards thinking that a god, or gods, probably don't exist.

You can't be agnostic and lean atheist? I have no idea if a god exists or not but I highly doubt it. I stand by my post.

Edit, I didn't read your post close enough. I guess we agree.

Did you know Atheists are the most discriminated against group ?

Really? How many atheists do we have in our US gulags? Have any nationwide groups been telling atheists they can't have a building near the WTC? How many people suggest not allowing atheists to visit the US, or kick them all out? I mean seriously, nobody really gives a crap about atheists.

Under Liberty all that is required of someone is that you not take other peoples stuff (directly or 3rd party), or threaten bodily harm in any way other than self defense. This is all I ask of anyone because this is all that I ask of myself, regardless of ones beliefs. That's the attraction of liberty, it accepts everyone as long as you adhere to those rules.

No.

Atheist = someone who positively believes that no god exists.

Well, we could argue about the definitions of atheism and agnosticism forever. In the end it doesn't really make a difference.

Yeah, except those are YOUR definitions, not dictionary definitions, which I am using, and I just checked to be sure.
