Amazing... my meetup wants to meet two days before Schiff's election to brainstorm for the November elections.. but they want to do an all afternoon beach activity, and I'm like, wait a minute, this is going to run right through the prime phonebanking hours, through the end of phone banking hours, it is one of the last chances we have to be phonebanking for Peter Schiff, it is one of my ONLY chances to do so, why are we spending time brainstorming of things to do when THERE ARE THINGS SITTING RIGHT IN FRONT OF US TO DO

I too would rather fight for the person who would make the biggest impact on the senate floor since Barry Goldwater. Sure peter doesn't have the best chance of winning, but if he does win the upside is tremendous.

If i don't duck out of this it's going to turn into something bad.. I'm not against meeting at the beach and talking about all this stuff, but it went from a meeting the weekend before to an all afternoon hang out at the beach pot luck kinda thing on aug 8 with NOTHING phone banking related, completely killing our whole afternoon to phone bank... and the person who organized it is acting like i want to do everything my way and accusing me of being divisive.. I'm just trying to get some Schiff love going at their get together and not have it be completely ignored, and maybe help enable people to phone bank who might not normally be able to..and minimize the partying aspect of the event to encourage people to go home and phone bank..

I just made around 34 calls. One piece of advice, do not call at around 3 pm connecticut time on saturday. You will get no where. My last call could have been so good but for Peter's position on Abortion. I disagree with his pro choice position personally. The guy asked me if he is pro choice. He said he is a one issue person and that it was abortion. He would support an anti-abortion candidate. He said he did not like simmons position and I dont think he liked Mcmahon's. I tired to say he was against Roy v. Wade and the government being involved and that he would oppose government laws about abortion, which is true, but he is pro-choice. I would not lie and if he had really pushed me about the issue I would have told him, but I finally told him I would send him some info.

Saying that he wants to repeal Roe v. Wade and appoint only strict constructionists while not mentioning his personal position is not a lie. It's not even misleading because his personal opinion on abortion is absolutely irrelevant if he is running for Federal office and thinks that Congress has no authority to deal with it.

I've only talked to 1 Schiff supporter so far, 5-10 who said sure on sending them literature, 3 times that amount hung up on me/no thanks, and 80% of all calls went to voicemail.

Were you apart of the Ron Paul for President movement? You donated to that, even though we had to reach more than 50 times more people to have the same impact?? This is more than 50 times easier to reach people because it is a single state.. 50 TIMES IS GIGANTIC!! Do you know much about math, can you comprehend how much easier this little task is?? 29th means they are lower than average, at least the median, so that is great!!

Schiff has been in this thing for over a year now, is in an essentially 2 person race against an opponent with a huge lead, and has made little or no progress. He has 2 weeks left to do what he has so far failed to do in the past year against an opponent who holds every advantage over him and takes a very similar political stance. The odds against him are simply astronomical.

I think that Schiff is going the right way.

McMahon has spent over 20 million so Peter could not match that, so he will focus his media blitz for the last weeks.

I think it very wise!

The fact is that this will hurt her campaign but we don´t know how much.

She's not going to debate. She'd have to be certifiably insane to debate a candidate who is 40 points behind her in the polls. She'd have nothing to gain and everything to lose. The only way she might agree to a debate is if Simmons asked for a debate- at least he's close enough in the polls to maybe force her hand, but she's not going to debate if it's just Schiff demanding it.

BUT i rather FIGHT and lose than quit and lose. What are going to win with quitting ? Maybe we just have different personalities.

Why support a looser candidate

If you want to call someone a loser, you should at least learn to spell the word properly.

BTW, when Schiff loses in 2 weeks, I hope you won't be calling him a loser.

Do you call Ron Paul a loser, too? Don't forget that Ron himself has repeatedly said that he had no illusions about winning when he entered the race.

You don´t have the personality needed, that´s why you don´t get support.

I would point out that at least I put my time, money, and effort into running for office, and have done so for more than 10 years, likely long before you jumped on the bandwagon.

So until you are willing to do more than just dial a phone and read a script, you might want to tone down your bull shit about what a hero you are.

And after that polling Schiff campaign will have a direct mail campaign & media blitz and has made 60-70 000 calls.

Hate to rain on the parade, but for every piece of mail Schiff sends out, and for every ad spot he buys, McMahon will likely run 10.
