We are at $919,358.91 right now for the "Give me Liberty!" money bomb. So, we will end up being short of our goal of $1 million.

That being said, this money bomb was by far our least promoted, having roughly a week and a half to get the word out and far fewer graphics than normal. So, in that respect, we didn't do too bad. And a big "thanks" to all of those who donated. We need to push for more "outside" donations for this next money bomb, though, as many of us on here are maxed out or getting close.

This race is not over, let's make that very clear to our fellow voters and to the media. We are still in this fight and are looking to be in really good position in a few states within the next couple months. Remember, we may not have won a straw poll at this point, but it's the caucuses, the actual meetings, that count (become a delegate if you aren't one already and are still able to!).

Let's remain organized and energized. Keep spreading the word of Dr. Paul and liberty to family and friends. Be patient and enduring. This is a marathon, not a sprint.

———

Now, we need to get to planning for the next money bomb a.s.a.p. We really need to have it within the next one or two weeks. So, promotion will be short, again, but these money bombs bring in more money than a typical day. So, simply having another money bomb will more than likely draw a lot more money than normal. I've seen a few ideas already thrown out, such as "No Free Beer's" April Fool's Day idea and displaying the other candidates as fakes.

We need to discuss what the idea should be behind this next money bomb, and figure out a date. We don't need to shoot for the sky, necessarily, and set a high goal (such as $2 million) as we did early on in the race. Let's set some competitive goals that we can achieve (such as $750,000 or $1 million). Because at this point, the campaign just needs some quick cash to operate off of and get the message out in states such as California and Texas that are coming up. I'll try to keep this thread bumped and/or updated.

Discuss.

Ideas:
-"End the IRS" (taxes in general)
-"Stop the Spending!"
-"Something's Happening..."
-"Taxed Enough Already?"

There are three more hours on the west coast, several more before Hawaii. We may be below the target, but may not. We'll see. We did have an earlier one this month with the Super Tuesday push at the beginning of the month. This is end of quarter, though, so it is important.

All the same, I agree with gearing up for the new one.

The obvious choice is the End the IRS (NO MORE INCOME TAX) moneybomb on April 15th.

And we can get a meme going for "Tax returns for Paul"

Honestly I know people who stop taking him seriously when they hear he wants to end the IRS, and I have to explain his more transitional plan to restore America. I'd vote for something else, personally. But using the 15th/IRS ish does make sense. "Never voted to raise taxes".... "It's a spending problem, not a revenue problem!" it could be a tax theme....

Yes, yes, I know. And I don't want to take away from the current MB, but I am just going to assume we will still cut it short.

That is a good idea. But, as sailingaway said, I've encountered a few people who take his IRS stance way too seriously, so, perhaps something a little softer and broader. I do like the idea of "tax returns for Paul," though. In fact, that could have been a theme for the past month.

4 primaries are on April 24.. so before then.

So, we have two big slots for April voting:

April 3rd:

-Maryland
-D.C.
-Wisconsin

April 24th:

-Connecticut
-Delaware
-New York
-Pennsylvania
-Rhode Island

This is why an April Fool's weekend money bomb is enticing, but leaves us a week to promote. If we wanted to, we could wait and schedule one for April 6th (Friday) or 13th (Friday) and that would give us plenty of time to promote and save up.

I agree with this! I loved the Liberty or Death theme but I didn't even know it was going on till I got a campaign email. Been busy of late!

This is a fund raiser, not a mind changing campaign. The people who will give money to Paul will absolutely agree with ending the IRS.

Also, there are MANY (MANY) people who loathe Paul who are against the IRS. My parents are Gingrich supporters and they want the IRS abolished and have for years.

We need more than RPF members donating to these fundraisers, though. As stated in my original post, many of us on here are maxed out or very close. The point of promoting is to not only secure all of the hard support, but to woo the soft support and, perhaps, some new supporters. Of course we all agree with that specific platform.

So, in a way, it's a mixture.

Edit:

And I think April 13th is a good date. It gives us enough time to spread the word and do everything necessary for promotion. It'll also give the campaign a week to utilize before the primaries on the 24th. How's everyone feel about setting the date for the 13th?

That's actually brilliant.

I personally believe that a system of taxes is necessary in any country, it could well draw in huge support. Heck, I might even donate.

I'll start editing the first post with ideas from everyone. We'll kick a few around for the next couple days and hopefully come to a decision soon.

As for the date, how does the 13th sound? I'll post it for the 13th for now, but, if people want to debate the date, then that would be just as fine.

The 13th sounds terrible
15th sounds fantastic.

Most (if not all) of our money bombs have been on a Friday and extended into the weekend. Do you think Sunday would be starting too late, or no? How would we do that? Start it Sunday and go all week or go until Wednesay, Friday, what?

The campaign extends moneybombs no matter what. The idea is to get all of the money in one day, but because the fundraising isn't what it was in 2008, they extend it. They would do this if it were on a Monday, Thursday, Saturday or whenever. It's more important to have a date that can be circulated. April 13th is just another day. EVERYONE knows April 15th though. It's not November 5th, where only Hardcore Libertarian knows what it is. It's not December 16th, where the nostalgic conservatives remember. It's not some random date to the penning of one of the most celebrated phrases in American History. It is April 15th. Tax Day. It occurs every year and EVERYONE knows it.

All good points. I'll add it to the OP. We need some more people chiming in here.

Not the big of a deal considering Tax Day is always April 15th except when it's on a weekend. People associate April 15th with Tax Day and Tax Day with April 15th.

Yep, the vagueness of the date would give a good excuse for the bomb to continue.

I think the "End the IRS" theme might be too divisive.
But I think a tax theme seems logical and marketable.
Almost everyone in the country has some sort of negative view of the tax system.
I'm curious to see what ideas pop outta this thread.
