If so, do you guys have Yahoo Group or Meetup email lists?

We need to get the word out to LP Members and CP Members that they need to go vote in the Straw Poll for Ron Paul. They don't even have to vote for him in the general election if they'd rather stick with their party then, but as IA residents, they can certainlly go vote in the Straw Poll. Let them know that subsidized tickets will be available if they can't spring for the $35.

Anyone?

I know that the Iowa call list sent to me by Heather was made up of independent voters not GOPers

This is from the website of the Iowa Libertarian Party. There's some contacts for the officers, and you can ask them the encourage the members to vote for Paul.
It will take some more searching around to find more contacts. If someone's willing to email these people, great. I'll come back later tonight and try to find some more contacts and send some emails if no one else did.

Okay, I started by emailing the guy in Ames:

Eric,

I got your name and email off the IA LP website, and wonder if you'd be interested in helping out Ron Paul just in the Straw Poll in Ames on August 11. You certainly can support the LP presidential candidate (as I will be doing if Ron Paul does not receive the nomination) but helping Ron Paul to win the IA Straw Poll would be a big boost for Libertarianism as a whole.

One only needs to be a resident of Iowa to participate in the Straw Poll, as you may know.

Please let me know if you have any questions, and I would be even more grateful if you saw your way clear to get other Libertarians out to vote for Ron Paul in the Straw Poll in Ames.

Here is some more info: http://www.ronpaul2008.com/events/iowa-straw-poll/

I'm happy to provide you with any additional information if you need it, and can mail you a DVD of Ron Paul if it would be helpful.

Yours in liberty,

Did you try voter registration lists?

Does Iowa allow voters to register by party? If so, you can find LP and CP people that way. It's a little late in the game but it's worth a try.

Okay, got one good response. I did not email the masthead officers, the four across the top of the page. (http://www.lpia.org/party/officers.php)

Is there an Iowa LP member who would like to email those four? You can use my email above and adapt it, saying you ARE an IA LP Member.

Here's the response I got:

Scribbler,

Thanks for the e-mail. The LPIA Bylaws prevent me from working on any campaign that is not a Libertarian campaign. Additionally, I am the National Mobilization Facilitator for the George Phillies 2008 Presidential campaign. I will forward this e-mail to Libertarians in Iowa who may be interested in helping you.

Regards,

Jxxxx Pxxxxx

Also, would a Constitution Party member in IA like to do the same for the IA CP?
