I think the important thing to keep in mind is what your eventual goal is.They do not hold there value at all.I bought one for 17k and after 5 years i could only get 3k for it.If your using it as a temp way to eventually get a convential house then i recommend getting a used one.If you want it to be a permanent residence then go all out on what you want.The bummer too about them is even when you get it paid off unless you have your own plot of land youll be paying a lot fee.Its cheaper than rent but still kind of like renting.
Yeah...that'd have to be one hell of a large, nice parcel for it to sell for $450k. We just bought a modular on 15 acres with a full basement, large stable and paid 63k for it....and modulars are generally worth far more than mobile homes.
It was a double lot on Big Coppitt Key, about 10 miles from Key West.
I had worked with the previous owner and helped to build the addition. It was built to withstand hurricanes,, and it did quite well.
