When we drove out, I saw several pastures with just electric fences--and some pastures with a combination of split rail and electric. Not sure which is better, cost-effective or if it's due to the horse's temperament.

Split-rail is reasonably cheap fencing though.

We found several boulders, a chicken coop, the remnants of a tree house and a burn pit that you could throw a horse in on this property. So I guess we're getting chickens.

I was ready about 4 years ago.

But I'll wait until we clear the brush and I can share some pics of what sort of facilities we have in that regard.

Some. Lived in some.. Several in fact. owned a couple. affordable housing.
+ & - with them,, like everything else.

I sold my last one for $450K

Yeah...that'd have to be one hell of a large, nice parcel for it to sell for $450k. We just bought a modular on 15 acres with a full basement, large stable and paid 63k for it....and modulars are generally worth far more than mobile homes.

Of course we bought a HUD house.

I have used electric and barbed wire for beef , but have never kept horses , too much expense and care , for hogs, just regular hog panel wire fence or, in the old days, shitload of barbed wire , then notched the ears as a brand so you could tell yours if they escaped.

I just touched the plastic ring around it and it was "zingy" so I can imagine that touching the bare wire would be memorable.

OSB doesn't do damp / wet very well. I'd prefer plywood on the outer walls.
