Any experience with mobile/manufactured homes?

When we drove out, I saw several pastures with just electric fences--and some pastures with a combination of split rail and electric. Not sure which is better, cost-effective or if it's due to the horse's temperament.

Split-rail is reasonably cheap fencing though.

We found several boulders, a chicken coop, the remnants of a tree house and a burn pit that you could throw a horse in on this property. So I guess we're getting chickens.
Well , let me know when you are ready to pick out chickens :) , and I will give you some breed suggestions....

I was ready about 4 years ago. :p

But I'll wait until we clear the brush and I can share some pics of what sort of facilities we have in that regard.

I'm guessing the electric fence keeps them away from a fence they can jump. When I had horses, it was just a tall fence.

Some. Lived in some.. Several in fact. owned a couple. affordable housing.
+ & - with them,, like everything else.

I sold my last one for $450K

Last one except for the run down one on my new land.

Did you accidently add a zero to that $450k number? Or was it a very large parcel of land?!

I saw several pastures with just electric, so I'm thinking it works, but I have no idea why. It also appears that this particular fence only has the top wire electrified. Other ones I've seen had two wires (generally out of four) that were hooked up.

Yeah...that'd have to be one hell of a large, nice parcel for it to sell for $450k. We just bought a modular on 15 acres with a full basement, large stable and paid 63k for it....and modulars are generally worth far more than mobile homes.

Of course we bought a HUD house.

I guess when they bump up against it, they stay away after that experience and don't even consider jumping it.

I have used electric and barbed wire for beef , but have never kept horses , too much expense and care , for hogs, just regular hog panel wire fence or, in the old days, shitload of barbed wire , then notched the ears as a brand so you could tell yours if they escaped.

I just touched the plastic ring around it and it was "zingy" so I can imagine that touching the bare wire would be memorable.

Amy fricken Pi is back. Who am I talking to?

If it is Amy, I promise to keep it private.

It's Amy...and I'm going to sleep. Kluge doesn't do this forum anymore. He got what he needed here. The screenname depends on what computer I use.

You are on my ignore list until you have another baby.
