I get all of the concerns, from untrustworthy to collecting info, around Americans Elect and share most of them. That said, I don't trust the GOP any more than I trust them and had no problem becoming a Michigan delegate to support Ron Paul. I am making one last pitch to encourage supporters to use AE to get Ron Paul on the ballot. The potential of getting on the ballot outweighs the negatives here with no more than a few hundred in each of ten states required to sign up and get him to the online convention. I do not know if he'll accept an AE nomination, but let's give him he choice. The way I understand the rules is that the primary rounds of voting that were to narrow the field IF there were more than 10 qualifying candidates, with the third round narrowing the field to the finalists for the online convention in June. That said, it seems that with few if any candidates qualifying by the May 22nd date, they should advance to the convention vote in June. I believe that if we can get the supporters signed up by next week we will have an AE online convention.

Keep in mind that the Caucus process is to narrow the field to the finalists that will be in the June Online Convention. I believe that if we have enough support signed up by that final caucus date (5/22) we will qualify. It would not surprise me if we have until one week prior to the convention date in June.

Hell no. I lose a $100 bet if he goes third party. And he is not going to win third party. Give it up already. Hell be on the ballot in a few states that arent sore loser like Louisiana and Montana last time, but beyond that, lets focus on delegates, PCs, other offices, and 2016.
The positive about 2016 is that obama might take us over the cliff and the country be so fed up they want radical change. The negative is we still have to deal with a delusional republican base full of blood thirsty necons. 18-29 yr olds will be 4 yrs older though and thus will vote in higher numbers. The key for rand to get the nod will be fox news. He must be covered fairly and often by fox news, especially hannity and oreilly. I hate both of them but we must face reality. We're dealing with an ignorant american electorate that can not think for themselves.

There is no way I would even start to consider ae for a viable path to the whitehouse. Why not just search the forums for one of many threads about this subject and learn why it gets rejected.

For the VAST MAJORITY of us who aren't delegates, sign up for AE and become a delegate there. It can't hurt to get Paul the support he needs!

Just FYI - as of right now, AE has delayed their caucus because no candidate has met the minimum required number of delegates. If we had backed Paul, he would have won by default. They're going to have an executive board conference to review (and probably lower) the qualifications for candidates, with results available on May 17th.

Why do you pass along bad info? To begin with Ron Paul is not affiliated with Americans elect in anyway. Secondly Americans Elect have announced they have missed their deadline for finding a candidate. Get some intel, buddy.

Under RNC rules if Ron participated in the nomination for another party, he could not be nominated at RNC.
So at least unless they delayed their deadline until RNC, this was never going to be an option, given Ron should have the delegate strength to get nominated from the floor.

This. Even if you are a delegate, if you weren't selected to go to the state convention you're not going to the national convention either. It's over for you.
