I LOL at anyone who tries to propagate the "all terrorists are muslims" nonsense. So the IRA are really Muslims? The "Shining Path" maoist guerrillas are really Muslims?

Those "Profiling" emails...

You've probably all gotten that email sent from a Neocon lover that lists all the terrorist and/or criminal acts that were done by Muslims between age 17-40.

I made a response to that email targeting Christians, but I can do it with any group; religious, racial, employment status, etc

d. A Muslim male extremist between the ages of 17 and 40

No, I really don't see a pattern here to justify profiling, do you?

So, to ensure we Americans and Canadians never offend anyone, particularly fanatics intent on killing us, airport security screeners will no longer be allowed to profile certain people. They must conduct random searches of 80-year-old women, little kids, airline pilots with proper identification, secret agents who are members of the President's security detail, 85-year old Congressmen with metal hips, and Medal of Honor winner and former Governor Joe Foss, but leave Muslim Males between the ages 17 and 40 alone lest they be guilty of profiling.

Bill, These kinds of emails I call collectivist Profiling. It is just plain wrong in so many ways. People are individuals and can be extreme or not. Lets try another group... To keep it short, I'm only including a handful of mass murders or high profile assassinations committed only on US soil. If I went global like your email did, the list would be too long.

Who shot 33 students and faculty at Virginia tech?
A Christian Male between 17 and 40.

Who bombed a family planning clinic in Birmingham?
A Christian male between 17 and 40.

Who bombed the Oklahoma Federal building?
A Christian male between 17 and 40.

Who were the DC Snipers?
A pair of Christian males between 17 and 40.

Who killed Abraham Lincoln, William McKinley, and tried to Kill Theodore Roosevelt?
Christian males between 17 and 40.

Who killed JFK?
A Christian male between 17 and 40.

Who shot Martin Luther King Jr?
A Christian male between 17 and 40.

Who went on a killing spree at the Univ of TX 1966?
A Christian male between 17 and 40

Who went on a killing spree at Columbine High?
Two Christian males between 17 and 40.

Who bombed Olympic Centennial Park in 1996?
A Christian male between 17 and 40.

Who was the UNABOMBER?
A Christian male between 17 and 40.

Gee No, I really don't see a pattern here to justify profiling, do you?

"Religion is tied to the deepest feelings people have. The love that arises from that stewing pot is the sweetest and strongest, but the hate is the hottest, and the anger is the most violent."

Motivational forces arent necessarily evil or good. It's how the people act on that motivation that makes it good or bad. For every terrorist act that killed, I can tell you of a Christian who saved just as many. I dont know about Islam or other religions, but I' sure its the same. For the most part, religions are founded in love. But its hard to stop those that would use good organizations and philosophies for evil purposes.

I don't believe religion was a motivating factor in any of those except for one or two. Also you are wrong on the one I highlighted. Those two were Muslim and one of them was named John Allen Muhammad and his religion was a motivating factor. I remember because I lived in Richmond at the time.

Religion isn't the motivating factor in most of the terrorist attacks blamed on Muslims, either.

You should see my list about Post Office employees. They should be profiled.

Oh yes.. Armed Forces Personnel should also be profiled.

Bill also sent me an email about the supposed verbage used between the Shoe bomber, and the Judge who sentenced him... Specifically, the Judge refered to him as a criminal, not a partisan. And the judge quoted the Hate us for our freedom crap... This is my reply...

Hi Bill, its Jack. I can't speak on the veracity of this account, but there are three things that bother me.

1. If terrorists are criminals, not POWs as stated in this email, then why are those in guantanamo and other facilities being denied the rights of the accused guaranteed by the sixth amendment which are the right to face their accuser, the right to a speedy trial by an impartial jury and the right to be tried in the district in which the crime was committed. If they are POWs then why has congress not declared war and stated what conditions must be met to return them to their families as POWs are released upon the declared end of hostilities by Geneva Conventions?

2. I cannot speak for Mr Reid but many of the men I met in Iraq hate us because We've been screwing up their lives for 60 years. Remember we gave them Saddam and the war with Iran. We gave them 15 years of sanctions denying them basic medical supplies and resulting in huge infant mortality. We gave them regular bombings to enforce air superiority. That is just one country. What we've done to other middle eastern countries including Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran, etc, is worse and they have many good reasons to hate for which they are justified and we should be ashamed. None of which have to do with freedom, a concept our elected officials erode everyday with things like the patriot and war powers and healthcare and cap and trade acts.

3. I resigned my commission because I am ashamed of my service. I did not fight for freedom. It is being eroded daily. I did not fight for the constitution, its enemies are not foreign, only domestic. I did not fight to defend the country, the place for that is our porous borders and ports, not some dirty hovel where people are so destitute they can't even get aspirin for a headache, some threat.

Sincerely,
Jack

Crap like this is what drove me realize I am a pretty much a Deist, almost like the two-party system drove me to discover I am pretty much a Libertarian.

+1776 as I'm basically the same way. Deism resolved so many issues I had with Christianity and Libertarianism became the path to which I discovered so many new and interesting concepts.
