I don't think it would be good for the real author(s) to come forward. Just more fuel for the fire in my opinion and continues to distract from the issues which is what is getting us support thus far.

It may not be a single person that wrote each individual line being scrutinized. They appeared in different releases over a 5 year period, is that right? It could be several people responsible I think that's likely and possibly why RP does not know who wrote them. I believe he is telling the truth when he says he does not know.

The media is obviously distorting those cherry picked lines by reading them out of context which prevents the ability of the reader to distinguish sarcasm, tone, intent. We know they're coming after us so don't let it get to you. This is just the beginning.

I'm surprised they started attacking this early. My guess is our lead is strong enough to warrant extra time to chip away less committed voters. It seems like in 2008 they waited until only days before Iowa to release the newsletter stuff. I think it will be even less effective this time around because so many additional supporters have joined over the last 4 years and many if not all already know about these things. We have the information and we know how to discuss it with people. The caucus provides the opportunity for voters to make the argument what the media is saying is not only untrue, but designed to be taken out of context to misrepresent RP's views and beliefs. Too many people have learned not to trust the media since Iraq and that's exactly why the media will fail to defeat us.

Stay focused and keep your head up. It's going to get worse but it's not going to work. Just wait until CNN goes after Paul in the general election, that's going to be ugly.

I happen to think the media got nervous and jumped the gun. Last time they brought out the newsletters the day before the caucuses... that was good timing. This time they bring them out Christmas week? Ha, ha, ha, we will be laughing all the way to victory.

Yeah, I remember the same. It was devastating, at least that's how it felt, but we still took 10% in Iowa. That was good at the time. I don't think the attack worked as well as they hoped in 2008 and I don't think it will work this time either.

The sad thing is, those accusations are at least as reasonable, responsible, and believable as those the media are trotting out. I can hear the Empty Head now:

"Now take a look at this picture. We've received reports that you were actually laughing at this woman because she's in a wheel chair. Some say that's because of racism. Could you address this Issue?

"I don't know where you're getting that, it's totally..."

The problem is that it works against *US*. That's why they bring it up. Frankly I keep having to remind myself that Dr Paul doesn't walk on water. WE are the ones this attack is aimed at don't ever forget it.

It won't hurt against republicans because taken in context lots of republicans have said or thought similar things.
I remember the L.A. Riots. I was disgusted with what happened. I was disgusted with Rodney Kings beating and the trial AND the riots. And I was disgusted when some people accepted the riots as a reasonable response to the trial. I heard far more racist talk at the time from my friends and neighbors than I've seen in the newsletters.

The media will keep this witch hunt up for a long time as long as it demoralizes US. That's what frustrates Paul so much. Nothing he says will make them stop. Once they have a name then they will want to know Paul's relationship to that name. Why didn't he fire him? What did Paul know and when did he know it? The media is after our idealized youth voters. That's why they are attacking.

I don't think it will work because we are more prepared this time. Us old timers can remind the new ones that Dr. Paul is no racist and I don't think he ever has been one. In fact his message is generally talks about how big government is hurting minorities. How big government is giving big handouts to the rich and powerful.
