Aaron Sorkin: Ron Paul is a "Batsy Old Crank"

I cant stand when I hear people say this shit...

Whether you agree with him or not he gave his life for what he believed in and never gave up hope. Fuck anyone who can't see the beauty in that all by itself.

but but he doesn't want clean air or water!

People actually watch this pretentious, self-righteous, thinly-disguised political propaganda?

Free market solution is to boycott movies of this guy?

Apparently there were Wikileaks reports that movies of Steven Spielbergh and those of scumbags Will Smith, Ashton Kutcher were being boycotted in mideast.

And with that ingenious statement, I will not finish Season 1 of Newsroom. Thank you Mr. Sorkin.

Where does Aaron Sorkin say that? One of the characters does, but not Sorkin.

The whole drunk Ron Paul supporter thing reminded me of this:

In fairness to The Newsroom, Ron Paul was also shown as having a beautiful minority young woman as a staunch supporter. Also it was acknowledged at an earlier point in the episode (by same supporter) that Ron Paul was being underrepresented in the media during the 2012 election cycle. Further, the show has included RP's campaign alongside mentions of Santorum, Gingrich, and Romney. The show clearly could have ignored RP (as much of the mainstream media did during the cycle). Certainly it could not be reasonably construed that the writers of The Newsroom support RP, but they have treated him with at least the semblance of non-bias. Further, the character who criticizes RP in this scene is an opinionated and relatively. naive character

Full disclosure--I think The Newsroom is an excellent show and the 2nd season is far superior to the 1st. Worth watching by all means in my book.

Have never seen or heard of any of these people or this show/movie until this thread.

That's such a satisfying feeling.
lol.

I can't get over how awful that segment is. Wow. Who needs to put that vile filth about Paul into a show like that? Despicable. And to have a character like that portray a movement. Shouldn't be surprised, but this was just low.

The script writers have been taking pot-shots at Dr. Paul for a while. In last season, the newsroom were doing mock debates and used a black man to be Ron Paul. Now they brought up the race-card when describing Dr. Paul once again. That seems to be the narrative across the board in the brainwashing media mind control these days. They brought up race and legalizing drugs and how easy it is to get it so why legalize it or decriminalize it?

LOL when I saw that, I thought to myself there would be a thread here in less than 24 hours.

It is a TV show about MSM (someone even says don't call it MSM when you're on MSM), and they really don't say much more (or differently) about Ron Paul than they did in real life. I don't think they say anything nice about anyone on that show.

Ironically, while they don't say very nice things about Ron Paul, the direction the show is going will probably end up having some of the characters promoting libertarian ideas.

Take apart a man's life in a cheap 2 minute fictional conversation? Really? With no counterpoints? Just run with all the inaccuracies. That was one of the most tasteless, vindictive pieces of dialogue I have ever heard.
