A self evident fact: "liberty is not what people yearn for"

I know you were being sarcastic above, but the shame of it all is, some people really do think like that. The DOE has been the globalist weapon against us. Bernie Sanders must be proud--that is why his campaign promises free college for all.

And more than that, universal basic income, free medicare for all, Etc. All of it completely irrational, unrealistic, and unsustainable. The unproductive will far outweigh the productive. Money just does not grow on trees like they try to present. If anyone believes even one word of it the dumbing down you speak of is absolutely working.

I think its an inverse relationship with responsibility. More liberty means being more responsible, whereas more government means I have less responsibility and will be taken care of. Thus, when the message is propagated that you have "a right" i.e. to "free" healthcare it is implied that you are owed it and thus it will be given to you. You don't have to be responsible for it or to yourself and people will be dependent on that system. Whereas if it is not a "right" then you must take on that responsibility of seeking the best coverage you want. Even if that means working harder to achieve it, but that sounds to much like work so people take the path of least resistance at the cost of thier freedom.

Well said... And in turn this imposes hardships and less freedoms on those who are responsible for themselves. :)

Yes the globalist strategy has been in the works for very long time. People have to wake up from their slumber and stop being defeatist and counter it at every turn. This dumbing down has caused a great divide in this country--this is exactly what the globalists banked on. It is so much easier to conquer a people that way.

If people cannot see that Trump is mucking up their works, for the most part. then they aren't paying close enough attention. Trump is not perfect, nobody is, but he is definitely mucking up their game plan to destroy this country.

I see this bigger picture too. It is always a prerequisite for me in perspective, things make more sense and it's easier to understand the why. Apparently we are the minority.

Outside of a tiny remnant, no, they haven't.

They have been content to grow fat and stupid, gorging on the carcass of what 200 years or so of liberty built.

Actually, they have been retrained to think of liberty as anything other than the Constitutional definition.

Adding, the right to pursue property has been all but taken away. It’s hard to buy, hard to maintain due to regulation, and hard to retain due to burdensome taxes. Thus, the welfare state. Unless we find a way for poor people to own property, no matter how small, and do so without government interference, we are in for a world of hurt.

Historically poor people have not owned property.

Why should it be "our" (we) responsibility to provide property ownership or even the opportunity to poor people?

Entitlement is a real thing and I'll have no part of it..

As long as we have a monolithic central government that operates with little oversight, we will never be free. That noose has be tightening ever since the constitution was signed. Freedom is only possible if nationalism is rejected.

I think that the younger generation thinks if you are free that means you can go kill your neighbor and take all their stuff and not go to prison for it. So in essence freedom=violence.

I think that's what older generations think

Nobody is saying we provide property or the opportunity to own it. I gave three ways the government hinders people of any income level from owning property. Working poor people should be able to stay in a small home that has been in their family for generations, but when a municipality makes it too expensive to live there because of repressive taxes, poor people who do own property are displaced. Even selling the property cannot recoup losing the home because a new home is going to be more expensive and taxed more.

I think people should be able to buy quarter or eighth shares and put whatever kind of home they want there. Tear down housing projects and let people buy those shares. Water, sewer, and electricity are already there. Allow mixed use so there can be basic retail available like grocery and pharmacy. Government has got to stop regulating property ownership.

The people of the community vote on their taxes, I don't know of anywhere where the taxes are levied helter-skelter with no input from the community at large....

Would you forbid by yet more laws the taxation of those who earn less than XX$?

Would those properties you waived taxes on forego amenities/services provides by the taxing body?

Which stage of 'government' would you call on to regulate the current taxing one? Federal or state?

Now I'm all for grandfathering in property ownership/tax rates etc..... But one must approach such matters logically...

You will be conquered by nationalists.
Freedom is only possible if government is minimized. (NOT eliminated)

Eliminate property tax with a Constitutional amendment at either the state or federal level.

Yes... I was being sarcastic. :)

I was just about to point that out- most here don't read sarcasm very well. :seenoevil:

As for freedom- the beginning of the end was the CONstitution- a Hamiltonian coup for big gov- then gov got involved in everything.

Public schools were specifically designed to make everyone compliant factory workers. Freedom is NOT the "American Dream". Horrible 9-5 slavery working for the man.

People live in The Matrix & think it's reality.

It is not.

It is the antithesis of Liberty & what the Declaration originally stood for.
