4 American hostages killed by pirates

I've actually been thinking of starting a maritime security business for people who want trained security personnel aboard yachts and cruise ships and the like. I'm in the research stage of that plan.

If the commando raid had went well, it would have been propagandized to no end, in this case it went bad and so they lie.

That's a bad situation all around. I had rather we focus on busting up pirates than "spreading democracy" in Afghanistan and Iraq.

I feel bad for their friends and families but if you're going to sail your yacht around the world it's probably best to avoid the Somali coast. Seems like common sense.

Completely agree with you. The US military should not have been involved and these people would likely still be alive. Our Navy isn't an international coast guard and should have stayed out of the situation unless they believed that lives were at risk (which they weren't as the whole point of a ransom is to keep the hostages alive). The pirates probably killed the hostages in panic as negotiations deteriorated with the US Navy and they were about to be boarded.
