My son is a music teacher in the parish right across Lake Pontchartrain from me (St. Tammany)....says it's sleeting there right now.

I am to be below zero again tonight , like Pete , I am ready for something better.

Rain/sleet mix here in NOLA now. I'm 58 years old and have lived in the NOLA area all of my life. I don't remember any other time when we've had sleet 3x in 3 weeks.

Remind me to thank Al Gore for the global warming.

we usually have 3 days of semi-cold weather, then back to hot and humid.
this year we actually had 4 seasons in louisiana.

Thank goodness for a real winter this year - I have gotten awfully tired of getting buried up to the eyeballs in fleas and ticks come Spring. Only it really hasn't been enough. It's still been awful mild with just a handful of really cold days. Unless we get one good protracted bitter cold snap before Spring, we may have gone through all this for nothing and Spring bug season is still gonna suck. :(

I'm dreaming of fields of dead mosquitoes.

It's been a cold one up here too. I'm hoping the blackflies die out. I hate those little bastards.

I think I am minus 8 tonight , minus 15 Sunday night .

ok, so we are now getting another ice/snow storm.
has anyone ever experience a thunder storm at below freezing temps?
we have one right now.

Seriously, more snow???

this has got to be some sort of record, no?

not sure what the annual record is...
I read somewhere 13" in colfax. but i don't know if that is a yearly or one day record.
i doubt its a one day record.

but i don't think the snow will get below highway 190. alexandria is at the freezing air border right now. it will creep further south during the night, but i'm not sure how long the rain will last.

you should have that ski lift in by now...

I am hopeful today is my last sub zero morning ..... work has been dreadful , it is very warm in my office but the floor is somewhere around 45 - 55 except by the shipping docks , which is usually where I am . Once you have to go outside for something you never really warm back up on the dock which is nearly the same as the outside temp. Then I am usually outside for awhile ea day before work and hours at a time on my days off .
