3" of snow in Louisiana

sooo...i'm channel surfing this morning, and i'm watching NOLA, and cars being abandoned on the freeway......

not good.

Even with a 4WD XTerra the drive to Fuquay Varina (NC) was a whole lot of no fun this AM. Tomorrow I'm heading to Dunn, and it's supposed to get down to something like 10° so I expect re-freezing. Which is worse than snow. Joy. I best plan 2.5hr for this 1.25hr trip.

take extra food and water and blankets....i've been stuck on freeways here in Seattle from snow and ice. One time for 6 hours...

I've seen some of this on tv and just kind of chuckle. The roads down south that are end of the world look clearer than most of the roads here have since about thanksgiving. We drive on ice and snow almost 5 months a year.

It's going to hit the 30's in the next few days. I might break out the shorts.

Up to 19 , I celebrated by letting the fire go out , turning on the furnace , set @ 66 , went out to feed the animals in just my flannel shirt .Sweet.

I heard it was snowing in Baton Rouge about 30 minutes ago. Wasn't cold enough to accumulate on the ground though.

its coming down so hard right now, that it is accumulating.
ground temp where i'm at is 33f, so it shouldn't hold. but the snowfall is so thick you can't see very far.

We have been in the teens for a week. Nice after Sub Zero temps. (NOAA says 16,, Mine says 14)
