The 2nd amendment was included in the Constitution for the purpose of allowing slave owners the right to own guns. This would allow them to track down runaway slaves who would have joined the British against the colonists.

Basically the 2nd amendment is racist!

The 2nd Amendment is to secure for individuals the right of protection from harm, criminals, and a government gone wrong.

A militia was always local to protect the community and every man over 14 was in it.

Funny, cause my understanding of history says that it was White guys who after abolition of slavery tried to argue that the 2nd A didn't apply to free blacks. So they used laws to keep imancipated slaves from being able to access guns a means to protect themselves from white supremicism. So actually it's racist to deny someone the 2A.

Haven't heard that particular crap before... mostly the "2nd Amend only applies to Muskets!" and crap like that. I don't really care to argue about it since I will never give up my arms, nor will anyone in the country. If they tried to disarm even a fraction of us... well just use your imagination.

This is moronic in so many ways it's difficult to credit, even to brain-dead progs.

For just one thing, the war ended in 1783. The Bill of Rights (including the 2nd amendment) was not implemented until 1791, well after the war was over.

And for another thing, no one was prohibited from owning guns prior to the adoption of the 2nd amendment - so slave owners wouldn't have needed it for this alleged purpose anyway.
