20,000 Muslims Attack a Church in Cairo

all you guys before you prejudge the religion please read about it....
just because some of the people who have inner frustrations use the name of religion to justify there actions doesnt make the religion bad....

did you even see the videos...where were the 20,000 people and where was the church? some random video with people chanting is pretty common....

please provide a good reference and I will be glad to apologize.....but your posts have nothing but hatred for the religion of Islam....if what happened was true it is shameful and wrong but donttake this opportunity to bash a faith...

Have you even read or the quran or any hadith? I have, and there is ample stuff there for people to take as violence being justifiable and even promoted. Remember Muhammad was a warlord.

But look at other religions too, with Christianity in America before the Civil War preachers who supported slavery turned to the bible and were able to interpret it and use it the book in such a way as to promote slavery. The Crusades were also justified using religion. So we have to remember, religions can easily be used to promote violence. It is appalling but it is a fact of life.

Now going back to Islam knowing that religion can be used as a tool for violence, then throw in a healthy dose of mob mentality in which the individual ceases to think rationally and independently, bad things can happen. Not all 20,000 people may have wanted to become violent, but some did.

Any idea, ideology, or religion can be perverted

In Rome, Christians made (were) excellent victims and sources of sport when Christianity was in its infancy. This statement and others make sense in the context of the entire thread thus far.

People who are out of control of reasonable emotions are dangerous. Generally, religions are not themselves dangerous. Hay is a good thing; on fire, and out of control, it can be fuel for destruction, but hay itself is not dangerous.

I have more fear of Godless people than of people who are their own exclusive god with no sense of a higher governance than themselves and their viewpoints.

And that's the way it is as we approach the season of Advent when Christians remember the birth of one called a prince of peace.

Asswads are asswads regardless of the books they read. Beats me but I knew a muslim guy back in a high school camp who was probably one of the most benevolent men ever. Haha he might've been from Iran even. Anyway he'd like give girls his jacket and stuff, and he said just seeing them appreciate the gesture was like divine or something. Anyway guess we've just been hanging out with too many Saudis lately... sarcasm intended.

I seriously dislike it when people say, "Muslims are good, Islam is bad." The Quran also has lots of beautiful verse in it. And, jihad ultimately means struggle. Just like Christians interpret things in the Bible rather than always take it literally, so too would we treat Islam.

It really makes me mad when Christians, like that Dutch politician, say Islam is an evil religion. It is as if you are elevating yourself on some moral pedestool.

However, we must draw a clear line here. Religion can be a tool for violence, but it is not the cause of violence. Ultimately, religion becomes justification in that regard if it is maligned. Just like guns don't kill people, religion isn't the ultimate cause of discord.

asianews.it and metimes are fake or "fantasy" news sites. They love to see their fake stories go all over the internet then make fun of those that quoted them as a source.
