Except they aren't all black. They are blackbirds, though many are the sort with patches of color on the shoulder. In addition, the females are not black. There was one in one of the videos which survived and was not black.

REDONDO BEACH (KTLA) -- Millions of dead fish have washed up in King Harbor near Redondo Beach, and officials are now trying to figure out why.

The dead fish, mostly sardines along with anchovies and mackerel, are apparently floating up to the surface from the ocean floor.
