In the off chance that something really big is in the interview, this is precisely how ABC could play it down to minimize the impact on Newt's run. They released a scandal plausible enough to be the "shocker", but it may or may not be what the leak was referring to yesterday.

ABC is in the position of minimizing fallout from this situation with an except that reveal a "scandal" but only a minor one related to his personal life. The overall reaction will shift to one of disinterest by the time the full interview is released.
