Ron Paul Delegates Forced out of Republican Convention

At the Nueces County Republican party convention, March 29th, in Corpus Christ Texas, Ron Paul supporters walked out in protest and held their own emergency convention in the parking lot. Republican party Chairperson Mike Bertuzzi grossly violated party rules by announcing new delegates to the morning's roll call who were never elected as precinct delegates on the night of the Republican primary, then again by ignoring repeated objections by party delegates, which he is required to recognize.

Mr. Bertuzzi claims that he avoided a 'party takeover' by unruly Ron Paul supporters, but a recently released audio tape of the event clearly shows otherwise. As a blatant violation of convention rules is underway by the Chairperson, many delegates can be heard rising to voice objections with no avail until a local man, Paul Hunt , is escorted out by the Sergeant at Arms.

The following morning, the local news rag, The Corpus Christi Caller Times, reported only one side of the incident, by claiming that a GOP party takeover had been thwarted while presenting Chairperson Mike Bertuzzi as some kind of political hero for violating the rights of local Republicans.

The above article is some of the most bias reporting I have ever seen.
Please call the news paper, send them emails, let them know that a sucker punch will not be tolerated!

How do local Republican insiders react to Ron Paul supporters demanding that rules be followed and their voices heard? By equating Ron Paul supporters with Al Qaeda and Jihadists, of course.

The renegade delegation form Corpus Christi is currently in the process of appealing to the State convention to have their emergency convention recognized in place of the now fully incredible organization led by Mike Bertuzzi.

*I do not know what the result was, but if i find the info I will post it on here*

Clearly, this person's failure to see a violation of Robert's Rules indicates a need to do a bit more reading. Any sort of parliamentarian would know that Points of Order and Points of Information have the highest priority and cannot be ignored.

"A point of order may be raised if the rules appear to have been broken. This may interrupt a speaker during debate, or anything else if the breach of the rules warrants it. The point is resolved before business continues." -Robert's

similarly,

"A point of information is a request directed to the chair, or through the chair to another person, for information relevant to the business at hand... In this way, it is distinct from a parliamentary inquiry, which requests information related to parliamentary procedure. If another member responds to the question, then any time he spends doing so is taken out of his allowed time. Accordingly, if a point of information is used to interrupt someone's speech to ask them a question, the chair asks the member if he is willing to be interrupted." -Roberts

Note that in both instances, the chair is required to acknowledge the point immediately. He is NOT permitted to "choose not to recognize you".

that is un fucking believeable... deliberate deliberate rule breaking.... i hope this gets investigated.... First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.

Wow.... I'm finally a believer in election rigging. I think I'm feeling an emotion.... Anger?

My temporary 56k is too slow to get a listen, but... Someone needs to blow up that picture to a huge scale, stick it on a stick, and run outside and around the RCN in September.

The GOP cant deal with the marketplace. They will lose.

someone needs to write a book on specifically the corruption in these precincts.

Very true. Take a tiny tape recorder to your convention, one you can easily hide, and hide it or tape it under a table.

Stuff shows up on Ebay all the time, after someone gets bored with playing with some "spy" equipment.

Can always just dial out on a cell phone to a tape recorder or a computer, too. Leave it on... stick it in your shirt pocket...

I love Texas, lived there for 6 yrs, wonderful people, keep up the good fight!

Wow I surprised that didnt turn into a full on riot. This is probably going to become the norm. The GOP appears to be testing different strategies in different areas to see what "works" against Paul supporters. I guess the next strategy is to flat out ignore the rules and ignore anyone who fights it. There's gotta be something that can be done about these kinds of tactics.

I am in Corpus Christi right now on vacation, that video was not a good thing for my blood pressure.

death throes. Most GOP events I go to could easily be confused with a nursing home bingo night. Just keep at 'em. Eventually, the party will be all ours.
