I would love to see Ron run again but the movement may be in a different place at this time. A Rand Paul run could be epic with the full force of the liberty movement at his back, the Tea Party with him and an endorsement from someone like Palin (whom I don't think is running). Rand would top tier candidate instantly, if not the frontrunner. We know he is one of us but at the same time he doesn't make the establishment shit their pants...... yet! :)

those are good points but I think Rand will be even a stronger candidate in 2016. in the meantime he'll get many interviews, trick questions, etc., that will prepare him to be ready for a presidential run.

I like your assessment, but I think I might have a different take. Rand can do what you say so far as swaying the bulk of the Tea Party to listen to us vs. the has-been and never-will-be neocons who have infested it. He's also young and maybe better at playing a live crowd. Ron, on the other hand, is fit but not particularly young (except at heart). And, of course, there is 2016 to think about, and 2008 as well, and a dearth of good campaign people who are willing to alienate the richer candidates by working with He Who Must Not Be Named. In other words, they and we might still have mistakes to make, and by being a spokesman rather than the candidate, these mistakes might not taint Rand.

That, too. He could wind up making mistakes himself and his dad would suffer more than he would this way.

I would think Rand Paul's name recognition is fairly high. I will support whoever steps up.

It would be very interesting to listen in on the conversations taking place in their DC apartment. Many, many schemes to move interest in their collective direction and never let the spotlight move too far from the Pauls!
