I'd rather Rand, he is a teflon Ron. Ron can be Treasury sec.

Why start a fight? I know Ron can handle the debates and honestly, Rand's performance wasn't quite Ron's. On the other hand, Rand has had a lot more practice since then, and has been brilliant, lately. Also, I am absolutely confident of Ron, and still have a few questions about Rand.

For me it would be 'just what I want' against 'SEEMS TO BE just what I want'. However, I strongly suspect he wouldn't be saying this unless he knew his Dad had real reservations about running, and but for Ron, he'd have my fullest support. So lets not pit them against eachother. They are on the same side.

No pitting at all. Ron is the man but Rand simply resonates better with the public and the media does not seem to exclude him as much.

with GOP primary voters, maybe. Ron with Dems and a bunch of independents, just because of the different ways they were demonized. Ron was demonized in a primary, in terms poisonous to the base, and Rand was demonized in a general election in terms more poisonous to non-GOP.

However, if we even GET to a general election that means a Paul debating Obama, and I won't quibble at all over which one it is....

he just got into office a 2 months ago, and hes consider leaving already? me not like

I'd have my reservations, but, then again I had my reservations about obama's lack of experience and look what happened to him.

interesting. Ron's fbook the other day was " Rand will be in Charleston, SC tomorrow for a series of events and a book signing. His presence is early primary states is very helpful to me, as I'm sure you can imagine. Drop be to see him if you get a chance."

this article is linked to Drudge now with the Drudge summary: "Rand Paul visits South Carolina"

That is interesting. But when Ron is coy....he doesn't do it well. He could just as easily be trying to get supporters to go and see Rand to get an introduction for his own run. Or he could still be unsure but be pretty sure ONE of them should run.

Ron does 'direct' much better than coy.

I think they are both playing this so it could go either way.

My view of what is happening:

Rand has been hot and heavy out of the gate with legislation, plans and appearances. He has been to all the early primary states with and without his dad. It could be that Rand is formally introducing the Tea Party to his Dad or that his Dad is formally introducing Rand to the Liberty movement. I know many here are with him but many are still waiting in the wings too.

I would love to see Ron run again but the movement may be in a different place at this time. A Rand Paul run could be epic with the full force of the liberty movement at his back, the Tea Party with him and an endorsement from someone like Palin (whom I don't think is running). Rand would top tier candidate instantly, if not the frontrunner. We know he is one of us but at the same time he doesn't make the establishment shit their pants...... yet! :)
