You don't win by quitting... (Ron is still a Republican)

Matt. you don't speak for Ron. He told us to do what we want to do. You will look like a fool if he runs third party after this convention is over. Republicans = Democrats = OneParty.

It is not about winning the election because Ron Paul knows they would never let him win, it is about his message which hopefully will wake people up and start the revolution that is long overdue.

I also believe Ron knew they wouldn't let him win ... I also think he thinks he accomplished more than he ever dreamed. In fact, I believe he's made statements to that effect.

I dislike this type of manipulative thread title where you basically insult your intended audience by backhandedly calling them quitters.

I admire and respect Ron Paul but he won't run again and Rand is going to have to suck up to the ptb.
Done with the Gross Old Plutocrats. Still trying to figure out what to do now.

Is HE going to be leading that? Because Ron speaks and writes differently from Tate. And Gary Howard was wonderful and Steve Briebart, but the GOP in one form or another got them. (I'm hoping Steve will run for something at some point.)

I think Gary went with Rand didn't he?

Nor do you "win" by continuing to beat your head against the same brick wall over and over again. You just wind up with brain damage.

Also, it's NOT "quitting" to recognize the fact that the actions you are currently taking are not substantively advancing your cause and thus resolving to change your approach in order to achieve greater success.

Electoral politics does not produce any substantive, positive results. The last 236+ years of US history, and especially the last half-century or so of the modern "liberty Movement" engaging in them, prove this rather conclusively. It doesn't take a genius to recognize that something needs to be done differently if the goal is to reached.

Leaving the Republican Party is just what they want you to do; don't let them win!

Remember, Ron Paul stayed with the GOP after they kept shafting him, and he has become one of the most influential Republicans in history. Don't give in or wimp out, otherwise the establishment wins!

DEFEATISM

We will recover, formulate a plan, build our numbers, wait patiently, and then come back and beat them next time :D

I absolutely agree with you Matt. We would be playing right into their hands. It may not seem like it, but we really have them running scared:

"I wish I could tell you we were doing well right now, we're not. Ron Paul has totally taken our state party over" - Jon Kyl

http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box...gop-leaders-fret-about-state-party-structures

The people you all saw chanting USA yesterday have a false sense of security believeing that they got away with all this crap. They are clueless.

Right now we are all pissed off and reacting emotionally. I know that the thought of even participating in this party pretty much makes you want to shower immediately after dealing with these people. However, if you really step back and have some persepctive, these guys are shaking in their shorts.

THINK ABOUT IT: For them to do what they did yesterday, and all during the campaign, shows complete desperation, don't you think??? And people who are desperate are generally scared and feel threatened.

I remember reading some thing in a motivational book that always stuck with me. It had to do with people working toward a personal goal. The author wrote that the majority of people who gave up were right at the point where they were going to have their breakthrough. They were sooo close but they gave up much too early.

We live in a society where people want instant gratification. We must not fall prey to this. You have to look at the bigger picture. Could you even imagine in your wildest dreams that after calling Dr. Paul a crackpot, the Republican Party would adopt into their platform to audit the Fed and a return to the Gold standard???

We must ask ourselves "what would Dr. Paul do??" I think he made it pretty clear in his recent speech that WE BECOME THE TENT. These people cannot take on a legitimate challenge without resorting to dirty tricks. Dudes, if that's not desperation I don't know what is. Besides - we've got AGE on our side. Paul supporters are the FUTURE! These people will all be slowing down and getting older. They can't do anything about that! :D Everything that Dr. Paul spoke about is coming true today so I have no doubt many more Americans are going to realize this and our numbers will continue to grow.

Think of ourselves as infiltrators for the cause of Liberty. You step outside of that role, I fear we won't have a chance. Dr. Paul has the experience. He tried 3rd party and he couldn't even make a dent. We need to follow his example. He's been right about everything all along. Why question his experience now?

Doing what our enemies want us to do & letting them decide our course for us ....
Interesting strategy.

Happens all the time. The Japanese reinforced this island during WWII, so we sailed right past it and attacked that island. Happens all the time.

We still have millions of dollars we could spend convincing electors to vote Ron Paul this December.

Not a chance in hell I'll ever stay republican because Matt Colons says that's what I should do. I'll "stay" with the GOP for now so I can vote in general elections if there's anyone worth voting for, I'll switch to D in a heartbeat--don't care.

Appeal to authority is a truly stupid argument ("Ron is still a Republican.") Do you think we're easily manipulated dumbasses Matt?

Probably not a good idea shelling out threads antagonizing those that we know have a problem with the GOP approach. Just continue to post our successes and maybe some of the other bunch may be re-inspired to join our a efforts. It seems that many of the attackers have chilled so let's not toss sand or urge them to lash out any further by starting a thread calling them out.

You're calling on the OP to scrounge up a little restraint and discretion?

Got a 2x4?

IF staying with the party means voting for the candidate THEY nominated... HELL NO!

But I will stay with the party and vote Republican... I'm writing in RON PAUL! :)

I'm not willing to be a delegate for the GOP but I'll vote if they give me good candidates. I'd prefer to spend time/money on promoting libertarian candidates and the GOP doesn't have very many.
