Yet another Candidate for Congress in the mold of RP

Interesting that he believes a web page containing misspellings, grammatical errors and claiming that the man made constitution is "sacred" would excite comparisons to Ron Paul.

When I see another Ron Paul Republican running, I honestly hope he's a Ron Paul Republican. This sounds more like a Constitution Party candidate, and I will never support one of those, unless it's actually Ron Paul.

Why?

It's none of a politicians business if someone wants to gamble their own money.

That statement needs to be clarified. Does he want to pass legislation that restricts people from gambling? Does he just find it wrong on a moral level but would do nothing about it?

May I ask you why? I'm a Republican too, but I'm all for people, regardless of party, who stand up for the Constitution and individual liberty. Once upon a time, there used to be a whole lot of traditionally-conservative Democrats too.

This guy is NOT a Ron Paul Republican, and I didn't even have to leave his home page to figure that out. Mods, please kill this thread.

doesn't sound to bad. Probably better than most in congress, but does NOT look like a ron paul republican to me.

"Bryan Greene wishes to help restore our government to its limited constitutional boundaries and Biblical foundations. Please help us get the word out about Bryan Greene "The Freedom Factor" for US Congress in 2008."

No thanks.

He may mean government-run gambling like state lotteries, but then again...

I don't care if he can't spell, all the congress people get college aides for that crap...like most CEO's in this country. What I care about is that they understand the constitution and will uphold the rights of the people.

Yea, either way needs a bit of clarification.

The rest of his site does look much more appealing that 99% of our current representatives platforms.

It's important that people understand "platform creep." Any candidate who says they support Liberty and the Constitution, 'except for this one issue probably any sensible person can understand' will soon have two, then three... and then you end up with George Bush in the White House again. This guy is no RPR and does not need to be promoted here.

Hello,

I am Jordon Greene, Bryan's son and Campaign Manager and I hope to answer some of your concerns here.

Bryan believes in limited constitutional government, and that the Congress has no right to legislate on anything which is not granted to them by the Constitution. In regard to the lottery issue let me explain. Personally Bryan disagrees with gambling in general, but understands that it is the right of the American people to make that decision on their own, and to be free to gamble if they so choose without the government coming down and regulating it. Yet, as I believe was stated earlier, Bryan is against a government run lottery such as the State of North Carolina just recently begun. Bryan understands that as a candidate for US Congress, if elected, he will have NO authority to ban or make any other decision regarding a lottery, nor would he desire to because it is not the responsibility of the Congress. Bryan supports Liberty and the Constitution, and does not give exceptions to that, because when exceptions are given (just as mentioned in the last post), you end up with a politician who will eventually violate other areas of the Constitution and not truly cherish liberty.

Another worry which I saw, was the phrase on Bryan's main page which reads, "Bryan Greene wishes to help restore our government to its limited constitutional boundaries and Biblical foundations." These biblical foundations are simply those which the founders enshrined in our government, that being one of morality and the basic rules laid down by the Ten Commandments. Bryan by no means, advocates any form of theocracy, religion dominating government or legislation that pushes a religious viewpoint.

Last, some pointed out the misspellings and grammatical errors on the page. We are sorry for these errors, and are currently working to fix them. I believe it was also mentioned that Bryan seemed more like a Constitution Party candidate. This would be true, Bryan is not a Republican, he is an Independent Candidate with the endorsement of the Constitution Party of NC. Bryan is running as an independent because the Constitution Party does not have ballot access (and it is easier for him to independently gain access), yet, would be running for the Constitution Party if they had ballot access.

Thanks for those wonderful answers Jordon.

I wish your dad the best of luck. Hopefully we can drum up some support here.

Its government run gambling (aka lotteries). He points out that people should be free to gamble if they like, it just shouldnt be a government function. (found on his issues page)
