Yahoo Front : Senator Rand Paul says he favors cutting U.S. aid to Israel

This is a win! People are on board with this.. and they'll be pleased even more when they figure out he want to cut it ALL the foreign welfare recipients... The POS establishment has nothing!

Good for Rand. This is what we need if we are EVER to get out of debt.

From the comments clearly the article did not make it clear enough that Rand wants to cut ALL aid.

Because this is what enough of the people who elected Rand (read evangelicals) care about. If they turn the evangelicals against him he's out.

The people posting in the comments section aren't representative and aren't helping.

this is way too little to turn the evangelicals against him. he would have to kill somebody or something like that. otherwise, he has their support locked up. plus, it's the economy what matters most now, and what will likely matter the most in 5 years when he is running again. and he is really good on economic issues.

Paul deserves a lot of credit. To call for foreign aid to be eliminated when Israel's supporters are so influential is proof that the representative is a statesman and not a politician.

Again, he called for $500 billion in cuts. They are focusing on this $3 billion, or less than 1% of it. Does that perchance mean they are fine with all the rest?

I like this comment best, which so far has 22 thumbs up:

221REALITY CHECK 14 minutes ago

I trust Rand Paul and Ron Paul more than I trust Joe Lieberman and Eric Cantor...

I notice the tone of the responses changes markedly whenever there is a response on the page specifying the fact that Rand was speaking about ALL foreign aid, and not just Israel. If such a clarification is not on the page, then all the responses demonize Rand. If such a clarification IS on the page, then the responses generally praise Rand. So it seems clear to me that this one fact (that Rand is targeting ALL foreign aid and not Israel alone) changes the entire dynamic of the argument.

What amuses me most is the anti-Israel activists who think eliminating a welfare check will harm Israel. It will only strengthen it and may make it less eager to listen to the US. And when China comes along with a $5 billion check in exchange for tech access, it will become even more moot.

a comment I found on CBS news

Holy Moley!
.
A United States Senator who has the cajones to dare suggest that America take care of America before sending welfare checks to Israel!!!!!
.
The Israel-First lobby must be grabbing its matzah balls in terror.

Rand is the real deal.

I tried to tell the Rand-deniers but they wouldn't listen!
