If the good doctor doesn't win a brokered convention I'm going to write him in. I suggest everyone should do the same. If he received a significant number I believe it would raise a couple eyebrows out there and some of this name recognition that we have all been fighting for might stick.

Then he might be able to spread the message into next year and beyond.
And just as his predictions about our foreign policy have been coming true for the last 20+ years so will his prediction about our economy come true time and time again.

I certainly won't be voting Obama or Clinton, or McCain. Write-IN it may just be if a 3rd party worthy doesn't present itself.

I'm writing his name in, no matter what...the Libertarian nominee looks like a loser, and besides, I don't think I can vote for them in the general election here in Ohio anyway (same way with the Constitution party, though I could be wrong).

Either way, even if I could vote CP or LP, I'm still writing Ron's name in.

Exactly, no matter what, I will NOT vote for Hillary, Obama, or McCain.. EVER!

Write-in it MUST be!!

I want to do the same with my wife, but i have never done it, has anyone here ever actually did a write in? where exactly do you write in? We get a paper ballot here and put it in a machine after that.

Do the petition and get him on the ballot in your state with or without the G.O.P. Don't write him in, make sure his name is printed. This isn't so much a way to ensure we can vote for him if the G.O.P. doesn't, but to ensure the G.O.P. will nominate him. We're saying, nominate him or we'll split your vote. After all, not that many of the party people below the chairman himself are AIPAC apparatchiks, and most of them actually want the G.O.P. to win. This is something we must take advantage of.

After all, if the chairman of the RNC tells thousands of rank and file delegates, "Don't worry if McCain loses. He was never meant to win," the cat will be out of the bag and the revolution will be won.

For the past ten years or so here in Minnesota, I've done more write-in votes than any other type.

Typically there is a line with an arrow, with an empty space in the middle of it. To vote for who you want, you "fill in" the line to complete the arrow. Each "broken arrow" has a name next to it. I believe it's always the last arrow which says "other" or "write in".

Since recently the Libertarian Party has not been that active in Minnesota, I usually have written in my own name. Or once in awhile, "none of the above." Funny I haven't won anything yet.

This election I'll CERTAINLY be writing in RON PAUL for President.

Thanks, i never really paid attention in the past for write in as i have been sheeped and only voted for Bush 2x :(

Absolutely my first presidential vote will be a write in for Dr. Paul. I won't settle for another 'evil' in the White House.

Writing in is not a good idea. Most states use things like optical scanners. Of course you can vote for who you want, but I recommend going with the Constitution Party candidate, who would be nearly exactly like RP if they pick someone like Micheal Peroutka. The Libertarians are generally pro-choice on abortion, and Ron is pro-life.
