Gas was up to $4 to $5 a gallon in 2008. I think it was near $5 when I was working in Elkton MD in 2008.
Anways I looked on this site and in 2008 it says gas peaked at 4.12 a gallon.

Here's the problem with giving Obama a pass and suggesting he was left with this mess from Bush.
He put his application in for the job and he said he could fix the problems and he was hired. I don't shed a tear for him still being in the same mess and worse than when he took over. If his policies were sound you would have seen some major recovery in at least a few areas.
If Ron becomes POTUS and in three years we weren't seeing significant changes, people would have every right to be upset.

I think 4.11 was the highest I paid then , of course at that point , between all the taxes , there was nearly .75 cents of tax in that .Gas was up to $4 to $5 a gallon in 2008. I think it was near $5 when I was working in Elkton MD in 2008.

If you count the amount of people "In The Work Force" when Obama entered office and the same amount today the U3 unemployment = 10.9% not the garbage 8.5% today. The population has grown, more seniors are working P/T jobs, and more entering the work force, but the clowns at the BLS/OMB lower the bar.
On top of that, the BLS is double counting workers in the minimum wage/part time/full time brackets.
Say you have a $125K/yr job and lost it, but now you have work at McDonald's and Wally World just to make ends meet @ the poverty lelvel. You are counted twice as 2 jobs.
Sick of all this Smoke and Mirror formulated lies to inhibited the truth by your very own Federal Government.

The only reason statistics like this make him appear to be doing a good job is because they are all BULLSHIT.
Seriously, who in their right mind actually believes that the Unemployment Rate is at 8.5%? They report it as 11-12% here, but we believe more like 30% or 40% Unemployment. There are too many people without jobs that dont "Count" as statistics because they are no longer collecting benefits. That is NOT an improvement in Unemployment if the people are still Unemployed.

We are already quite aware of how the game is played, and how the numbers are skewed to reflect an artificial gain or imply an unrealistic statistic. It is biased on the way the statistic is percieved, which is not the way it should be. If you really believe unemployment is really at 8.5%, explain to me how in the last 10 years, we added 30 million people to this country and have no new jobs for them, yet, unemployment rates are not skewed? I think the best thing anyone, not just you, but anyone can do is to get their information from multiple different sources and compare. MSM (for whom I used to work) tend to get their information from the same place. Government reported statistics. You want a different source for your stats, try http://www.shadowstats.com.

Here's what I don't understand about Obama. He said for every $ increase in spending, there would have to be a $ of cuts. If he did this like he said he would, then how can the debt increase $5 trillion?
Obama clearly LIED.
Also, any idiot on the planet can be president and do just as good a job as Obama. Anyone can screw up badly then blame it on Bush or Congress. Thats one thing I hate about our government. There's no accountability. Everyone just blames each other and nothing ever gets done.

The intention was never to actually fix the problem. Even the suggestion that we can somehow fix this problem by continuing to do the same policies is an ILLUSION. A broke people are much less likely to spend money on guns and ammo to actually fight a corrupted government than a society that can afford it. The intent is to push us all into poverty, submission, and conformity. That is the purpose of a Police State.

I believe U-3 (as currently defined) to be 8.5% but not to be a useful definition of unemployment (and heavily manipulated down). But that doesn't make it OK to spout falsehoods like you and hollywood did; doublecounting and benefit collection have no effect on unemployment.
