If Ron Paul was President, would you be more likely to join the military since you'd actually be defending this country here rather than overseas?

I said "More Likely", as I would willingly serve my country under competent leadership for just causes...

I would give it some possibility to rejoin, unfortunately since I have already received my honorable discharge from the Air Force, I doubt I could go back to them. Would have to go Army or Navy.

I honestly have little interest of serving in the military under any president unless a proverbial WW3 broke out.

This election is a very personal one for me. I was hoping with all my heart to be able to join the National Guard in order to pay for college, but I will NEVER put my life on the line for a country other than America, and I refuse to be part of something that takes money out of a single poor American's paycheck to rebuild a foreign country. Under Ron Paul I would know the national guard will not be deployed to any foreign country so I would be able to continue college.

I believe military service is more likely under a McCain/Hillary/Obama presidency.

No...not even with Dr. Paul as president...to me my life is more important than the life of someone I don't personally know. It would be irresponsible for me to create grief to my family also.

For those who said yes....think about your families and how much they are going to suffer and worry about you.

Dr. Paul doesn't want to keep wasting taxpayer money on the military anyway. That's why he wants all the military men overseas to come home.

Absolutely.

I've considered it for strictly financial reasons a few times, but I would not join for ideological reasons under the current regime...even if my home town were under attack. I'd privately buy guns and do everything I could, but I refuse to be subordinate to the chimp in the White House.

Thats why I would only trust Dr. Paul to lead me to fight only in the defense of my family.

I'm already in for the next 3-4 years, so "Same" is my answer. I like the sentiment here, though. I'd much rather finish up my time under command of Ron Paul, POTUS.

That is an EXCELLENT question.

This should be a national Zogby poll question.

Strong defense is to serve with purpose and not propaganda.
