Worst Case Scenario: What To Do For Those With Nothing?

Make some new friends and bring your skills to the table. If the crap hits the fan in a worst case scenario, liberty lovers are going to have to stick together. We need to be prepared to take in our friends and do what we can to help each other. Everyone will have to bring what they have and make it work.

Yeah, I'm physically fit and able, I just don't have skills to get that kind of job in a working economy.

We relocated first in KS, where we had family...NO JOBS THERE...so we set out to TX with only a little more than gas money, scoured Craigslist for work wherever we could find it and it finally lead to a better paying steady job that my husband was able to start just last week. So we are still just barely on the other side of rock bottom, this time last week we were still homeless. We JUST got into a house on Monday. So it is all still very fresh. All 5 of us shared one room for 5 months...so just having my own bedroom again is a luxury!

It breaks my heart to see others who are headed into what we have already been through, and the stories of those stuck make me tear up... I hate that so many are suffering :(

Ouch! We were doing remodeling on the home in Alabama, and had to share an rv for well over a year. Never got to complete the remodel before we lost the home. So I do sympathize with the privacy issue.

We had a limited amount of funds so we made a leap of faith and decided our priority was not to be without shelter as we have 7 children. So I got us within driving distance to several major cities and now it is up to dh to do the leg work. Lucky us, the job he has is industry related to GM and so he is on layoff probably terminally now. Back to the drawing board!

One thing I can say is tptb are not playing fair so to those in need don't chop off your nose to spite your face. Do what you have to to survive, and work towards making the playing field fair again as we can.

Oh my goodness!! I hope things start looking up for you and your family and that dh can secure something so that you can have a little more stability. 7 Children?? Bless you... I think I would go mad! But that is easy for me to say today because all three of mine are bouncing off the walls at the moment...:p

This is my problem. My small business was tied to the Big3 and that just dried up so the ground just fell out from underneath me and we have been in a downward spiral for months now. I have 3 kids and will find myself on the streets if my situation doesn't turn around.

A previous poster mentioned finding like minded skilled individuals in your area and put something together. Gather resources and try between the group to get your hands on everything else that would be needed. I have heirloom seeds, a tiller, Geothermal heating and a well with 3 solar panels I got from the road commission for cheap because they had chips in them (someone recommended that on here and it worked). They even asked me what I wanted damaged solar panels for. Also I kept my old propane furnace so when foreclosure goes through I will take my geothermal with me. I need a transformer and batteries for backup. I also bought a DC generator of ebay to make a VAWT. We have been stocking up on canned goods and rice and anything cheap that uses little resources to make but on no income this is becoming harder to complete.

Seems like alot of us are heading for the downslide. I hope things get better for us all. Ive switched from tourist related work to finance/mortgages. Will be working two jobs till i can once again see the light of day. Im behind on my mortgage but hopefully something will break soon. Im in florida, things are getting pretty bad down here trying to find work for most. I used to make ok $ in the tourist/hospitality industry. But the the last year to 1 1/2 has been pretty dismal. I hope the loan modification job works out ok as well as my new regular mortgage job. and im really really trying to become more green thumbed with the gardening.
