It will begin at 9:00 PM CDT, accounting for Daylight Savings Time. Since you live on the Western coast, that will be 7:00 PM your time. I hope that helps. :)

Edit: I know what time that puts me at.

I doubt anything fundamentally changed, but I did hear the words "I've never heard it put that way before" a few times, so I wouldn't paint this as a fruitless endeavour. I found a mystery mic attached to my computer towards the end, though I discovered very late in the game that there is a loose wire in it. One can never win.

Anyhow, it was still interesting, being my first experience with Skype like this. I think it worked way better once we were only down to four or five people trying to talk, as it made for fewer interruptions and the like.

Someone even came in just to disrupt, get bored, say how stupid this was, and leave.

Overall it was still fun, and I did learn a few things (both good and bad). I believe it was 5:30am my time when I finally said farewell to the last pair of folks (we were having a bit of a slow discussion on the tie between average IQ and the success/wealth of a nation). I particularly appreciate the civilized nature of this last segment of the evening/morning.

There was also a non-Paul person in the chatroom, or at least a non-RPF person; maybe he will register and give the place a shot as a result. I hope so :)

A whole lot of Biblical discussion, which would be expected with Theocrat involved. Some discussion of grace versus mercy. An elaboration of sins of commission and omission, and additionally condemnation of various persons based upon behavior outlined as sinful in the Bible. The ideal society where those sinful people would be condemned based upon appropriate evidence, given time to confess, and summarily executed. The physiological appropriateness of bisexuality/homosexuality, in somewhat vulgar terms. Whether or not God can sin and, if He cannot, why the creation of Lucifer/Satan/the Devil was not a sin, and the implications thereof. Commentary on the Shire Society. NAP and its flaws.

I won't be joining this one, so the discussion will probably not focus on how ideal it would be to execute me and what a heathen I am ;)

BTW, a "rational skeptic" is a contradiction in terms, speaking of the philosophical meaning of the terms.

I used to like discussing religion and worldviews with people. But I find that most people aren't very creative in this arena, and seem to only want to discuss the most plausible historicity/mythology of worldview x, and very little time discussing the human experience.

Most religious discussions usually boil down to:

Human 1: Your worldview does not explain phenomenon A.
Human 2: My worldview not only explains phenomenon A, it explains why your worldview has determined my worldview cannot explain phenomenon A.

or basically, "My worldview can explain your worldview" and back and forth and back and forth.

Do you really enjoy this? Always seemed adversarial and masochistic to me.
