Word from central Iowa

Back to the phones, guys. WE have to get out the vote!! It's so very important.

I volunteer here in central Iowa and have kept a close eye on local goings on here..

I just wanted to say that the more I watch people on the ground the more I am encouraged.. We are meeting our goals and are organized and energized like no other.. We are all calling and we are all preparing to caucus tomorow; I dont think any ron paul supporter I know is planning on sleeping until wednesday..

I hope everyone else is as excited as I am there is so much potential for amazing things tomorrow night!

This is in reply to Undertaker, whom I agree with. Their post "I'd advise people not to be cocky, lets just keep a cool head and hope for the best." My reply is

Here's part of what I wrote yesterday that talks about the PSYCHOLOGICAL EDGE that we need tomorrow. I'm posting it in this thread because it's important, yet I don't want to make a new thread and take up space with too many threads, going at once. I think it's very important to not be angry, panicked, fearful, or even cocky. We need to be deep, super-serious, totally committed, with a sense of purpose and meditation, focused 100% or the mission ahead of us. Here's what I wrote that may help:

That brings me to the SOPA or piracy bill. Many software entrepreneurs are against this attempt by the government to take over our digital economy. We must stand firm for freedom. Paul is against SOPA; Paul stands with the real inventors, the real job creators, the Silicon Valley entrepreneurs and tech companies, dreaming of a world of Internet freedom.

When all of us talk like this, it creates a bandwagon effect. There's enthusiasm and higher turnout and get out the vote drives. There are caucus speeches and primary advertisements, meant to persuade others towards last second switches. When the gold eagle of liberty soars, the herd will follow us. It does not matter if the breakthrough comes in January of 2012, or another month of this year, or beyond; the fact is change is coming. Liberty's Forest flourishes.

On the day of decision do not be angry; do not be in a panic; also do not be in a giddy or overconfident mindset. History has recorded great upsets. The legendary New Jets beat the Baltimore Colts. Likewise the Super Bowl 32 Denver Broncos defeated the greatly favored Green Bay Packers. And the never-say-die New York Giants overcame the previously undefeated New England Patriots. Just like we're going to overcome!

What are we going to do? We're going to save America!

Remember all those teams were about ten points or more behind pre-game, so they were much worse off than us, yet they won. How did they do it? Seth Joyer, joining the Denver team the following year, admitted that before the game, the Green Bay Packers thought that they had already won. I can see Joyer's point. In fact when watching film of that game, I can see that after the Green Bay scored the touchdown after the first drive, they were celebrating and jumping in the air already like the party was on. Before the game when they entered the stadium's playing field you could see the loose body language and facial expressions on the Green Bay Packer's players. In contrast the Denver team had a deep, super-serious, totally committed, no excess talking, almost somber like a funeral (but not sad) just totally and completely and 100% focused on the task they had to surmount. We can climb that mountain. We can fly that flag of liberty. We can soar once again like an eagle with dreams, no longer chained down by government tyranny.

What are we going to do? We're going to save America!

I also remember the upset of the New England team. Before the game a woman fan shouted to Tom Brady, "Tom Brady will you marry me?" He replied, "I've got a lot of Mrs. Brady's." It's this kind of arrogance that will ultimately be the undoing of the crony corporatism.

Be careful not to over fear the opposition. The corporations are powerful, but their master plans don't always work. They may think of themselves as undefeated, but they're not invincible. We're the good guys, and we're the ones that are going to win.

Please reply or post your thoughts and give me some rep if you can because I've been working very hard on this, and I'll add some more strategies in another forum soon. Thanks!

Make sure *ALL* the people who are caucusing for Paul get there *EARLY*. At least 6:30pm if possible. Especially those who need to register Republican. I've heard that some precincts will close the doors right at 7pm. And you *KNOW* some of the Republican establishment will do whatever they can to stop independents/Democrats from switching over.

Be early, be prepared.

!

The "woman fan" was a Mexican TV reporter, and she was wearing a wedding dress when she asked the question. Tom's "I've already got a lot of Mrs. Brady's" was in reference to his three sisters, and was actually an extremely non-arrogant reply since he tactfully avoided any mention of his Supermodel girlfriend (and soon to be wife). So while I get your point, that isn't a very good example.
