I probably won't support Barr/Root or vote for them, but I wish them the best of luck in bringing down McCain. If a pollster called me I'd tell them I was voting for Barr just to make it look as bad as possible for McCain and as good as possible for the cause of liberty. Maybe that will cause the GOP to throw McCain overboard and choose a more liberty-minded candidate to reunite the party.

No. I was leaning towards doing so but WAR's recent comments regarding the "war on terror" and foreign policy have made it so I can simply not vote for Barr/WAR in November and feel good about myself the next morning.

I was in Denver. The people supporting Barr (and Root) were long-time Libertarians -- I knew many of them from past conventions. There was no "neocon takeover", which should be obvious from the results of the LNC elections.

What "recent comments"? The date on the piece that has been widely quoted here is July 23, 2007 -- nearly a year ago. Since then Root has been persuaded that he was wrong about Iraq. Listen to his comments at the LP Presidential debate -- he clearly endorsed non-intervention and bringing the troops home.

I won't vote for Barr. I agree. To be honest, maybe it's just the kooky RP supporter in me, but I think the GOP has tried to break up the revolution, this movement, and have been unsuccessful. So who better to try and break it up? They get Barr to run as a L and divide and conquer us.

That's just my opinion, but I see it's already working on this website so how couldn't it work later down the road?

Haha... no. I'm an independent with an independent mind and have no loyalties to any party. The GOP of my state doesn't even want to talk to me let alone recruit me as some "plant" to divide. And I think it's ridiculous for you to assume this. I have seen the Barr people attack the Baldwin people many times on here. Ever since this whole Barr vs Baldwin thing came about it's been nothing but fighting back and forth on here.

And honestly, I don't even know who I'm voting for. I'm leaning towards Baldwin but who's to say he'll even be on my state's ballot? Who's to say Barr will be?

But I feel like both should be presented in ways where each person can decide. I see something negative about Baldwin, I'll present something negative on Barr. Just keeping it even.
