The wise man didn't say that about borders - he said it about border walls.
He actually seems to like borders - and maybe even using troops to secure them.

Pay attention to US borders, not international bordersQ: Why are you opposed to a system that requires employers to verify the immigration status of their workers?A: I don't like putting the burden on our businessmen to be the policemen. That means he has to be policing activity. But I have a strong position on immigration. I don't think that we should give amnesty and they become voters. But I do think we should deal with our borders. One way that I would suggest that we could do it is pay less attention to the borders between Afghanistan and Iraq and Pakistan and bring our troops home and deal with the border. But why do we pay more attention to the borders overseas and less attention to the borders here at home? We now have a mess on the borders, and it has a lot more to do with it than just immigration, because we're financing some of this militarism against the drug dealers on the borders right now to the tune of over $1 billion. And there is a mess down there, but it's much bigger than just the immigration problem.Source: Iowa Straw Poll 2011 GOP debate in Ames Iowa, Aug 11, 2011

Those should be the priority. I don’t know what the right way to do it is, but it has to be done. Getting these undocumented people outta here is one of the primary reasons I voted for Trump.
We know you support the invasion and subjugation of the American people. The correct solution is to oppose government/central planning:

"Instead of destroying the freedom that comes with open borders, how about devoting our efforts to dismantling the right-wing, left-wing welfare state? In the meantime, if right-wingers and left-wingers choose to give welfare to foreigners, let’s not be duped into joining them in their wrongdoing. Let’s just continue trying to end their wrongdoing."

A columnist for the Washington Post named Jim Geraghty recently chided me in his column for wanting to “abolish the Border Patrol and ICE and all controls on the free movements of people across borders.” With sarcasm dripping from his keyboard, Geraghty concluded, “I suppose that by declaring it to be legal for everyone to cross the border, you have technically solved the problem of illegal immigration. Yeah, that’s the way to handle the 2 million or so illegal border crossings each year over the past three years.”

The Trump administration plans to fine illegal aliens $998 per day for not leaving after being ordered and may seize their property if they fail to pay.

It will be used to reduce the deficit and pay down the debt. Will that money be directly returned to the tax payers like me in the form of a money order or check? Or will that money be used to fund and grow the fed?
Who gets the property if said immigrant paid for the property and paid taxes on it while they were in possession?
How many are we up to now?Less than 100,000.
I won't bother to quote an old post, but Schumer said early on that his main goal was to load the judiciary with woke leftist activists.
Everything the Trump admin tries to do will be stymied by the courts (until it eventually reaches the Supreme Court.)
it's not entirely clear but Homeland on March 31st said "north of" 100,000 have already been deported. How many are we up to now?
And they will continue to accelerate as Trump gets the deportation machine rebuilt.it's not entirely clear but Homeland on March 31st said "north of" 100,000 have already been deported.
ICE said it was 28,319 deported between Inauguration Day and March 11, so apparently
the depo's have risen dramatically just in the last month. Probably sourced mostly from the arrested-but-not yet-deported
stock on hand.
