Will Smith just assaulted Chris Rock at the Oscars

Will Smith bragged about plans to bring “chaos” and be “everyone’s problem” at the Oscars shortly before he stormed the stage to slap comedian Chris Rock — and then joked afterward that you “can’t invite people from Philly or Baltimore nowhere.”

In an Instagram video posted late Sunday, the 53-year-old actor posed with wife Jada, 50, in their Oscars outfits as they prepared for the ceremony.

There was a rehearsal, with Jada and Will Smith in attendance.

:D

But it's funny to me that people had to get a sense of where the morally-superior position was from the herd.

It's also funny that people feel the need to say, it must have been real, we saw it on TV, as if nothing that we see on are screens is ever staged. OMG! If people start doubting this, will they doubt Kyiv, or the Gulf of Tonkin?!

How soon do we get this narrative confirmed by fact checkers with little blue check marks?

Yes but I would think, intuitively, that that would include things like "come at me bro" or "bring it on" or "kiss my ass"..... not "your wife is ugly" or "yo momma so fat" etc.

Then again, the law isn't always intuitive.

This sent me down a rabbit hole of an interesting read:

One rabbit hole,, Search Old Legal Precedent. the concept has been around.

On the Main Yard,,what you say can get you killed.

(and yes,I took a shot to the jaw,, for a joke)

So fake.

Go to 0:36 and PAUSE it, now find the sideways arrow keys on your keyboard < > next to your question mark, now you can watch everything frame by frame- (backward <) (forward >)

Chris steps forward into the light more in a very look at me on purpose way, with his hands "locked" behind his back, as Will is walking up watch Chris lean forward and toward Will's slapping hand, he's sticking his head out perfectly for a slap, before Will even hits him Chris is already moving his head with the coming "slap," (find it and go back and forth with the arrows) watch Will's hand in the air, his fingers look bent back, because that's all he does is slides off of Chris's face, Chris smiles and keeps his hands "LOCKED" behind his back all through the slap, which is impossible unless he knew it was coming and watch Will dramatize the after-slap coming down of his tiptoes bringing his after-slap way farther around than he needed to and moving his other arm around too, for extra drama.

Also at 0:41 right when the frame changes from the farther shot out frame to the closer-up of both of them, look at their faces, they almost lost it, both with smirks and looks, then watch Will change his face from a joke to a movie gangsta look and walk away like he's in a movie.

...
- If the joke was a surprise, it looked like Smith was laughing when he told it, but Jada did not look pleased. Will may have gotten the look from Jada, which prompted him to act.

He noticed the same thing. It's too bad the camera went away from Will Smith. The look on his face when he turned to Jada would be telling. "Oh shit!"

Looks like we might have a contender for the 21st century's version of the Zapruder film. :D

I have no idea - nor do I care - whether this was real or staged.

Either way, it speaks volumes about Hollywood/celebrity "culture" (and none of it is flattering).

The Critical Drinker picked up on it, too. He also pointed out the same thing CaptUSA did.

The best part of this is that the media hasn't yet formulated a coherent narrative on which side is morally superior so people are left scrambling for themselves. Lol.

I know it's just nonsense, but I find it fascinating. People are literally waiting for authority to tell them how they're supposed to feel about this.

The Slap Heard Around The World
So a thing happened between Will Smith and Chris Rock at the Oscars last night. A thing which did the seemingly impossible - it made the Academy Awards relevant again.

Another thing that seems over looked. Just about everyone assumes that Chris Rock knew about her alopecia. He may not have known at all, and thought that Jada was making a fashion statement or preparing for a role.

Now if only important things could get this much attention and scrutiny.

This will likely be my bottom line on the subject.

Even if he knew, she's a public figure and a grown woman, and she made a decision to own this and go in public with a buzz cut. It's no different than making jokes about Oprah's weight or Gorbachev's birth mark. It used to be taken for granted that comedians were going to do that kind of thing, and famous people just had to have thick skin about it.

Making the argument that Will Smith has to defend his wife's honor is pretty stupid considering she cheated on him a year ago. Wouldn't be shocked if that whole incident ended up being scripted too.

Whether it was a fake or real, right or wrong, it will reinforce for some that this kind of behavior is acceptable. Especially for example those we roll our eyes at in youtube videos of trashy people we see getting into fights in fast food restaurants for slights or perceived disrespect or just complete delusion.

For some, seeing this will have meaning for them, and effect the lives of civilized people from time to time for when we have to interact with them and share the same space with those that use Hollywood stars behavior as their role model and value system.

Although I agree with some of the celebrities coming forward saying violence is not acceptable, I find some that have spoken out against violence to be hypocrites having witnessed their violence in private settings or condoning violence or worse behavior privately. Perhaps the only reason they do not approve of what Will did was that they do not believe in violence against each other. However apparently violence is perfectly acceptable if they are committing it against the slave class.

What kind of behavior? Certainly not the act of laughing at the rich and famous.
