JD Vance calls on Democrats to invoke 25th Amendment
Vice presidential hopeful JD Vance advocated for Democrats to invoke the 25th Amendment to remove President Biden from office in an exclusive interview alongside former President Trump set to air Monday night on Fox News.
"I think it is [a coup attempt]," Vance told Jesse Watters, speaking of multiple Democrats' efforts to push Biden to step down.
"There’s a constitutional process, the 25th Amendment. If Joe Biden can’t run for president, he can’t serve as president and, if they want to take him down because he’s mentally incapable of serving, invoke the 25th Amendment. You don’t get to do this in the most politically beneficial way for Democrats. If it’s an actual problem, they should take care of it the appropriate way."

Trump replied "sort of" when asked if he believes the presumed clandestine effort to unseat Biden was a "coup" attempt.
Vance also posted to X on Sunday, "Joe Biden has been the worst President in my lifetime and Kamala Harris has been right there with him every step of the way."
Speculation surrounding Biden's re-election campaign came to an end Sunday when he took to social media to announce his intent to drop out of the 2024 race and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris shortly after.
Leading up to the political earthquake, Democrats urged Biden to step aside for new leadership to prepare for a face-off against Trump in November.

I was just about to post this. I doubt JD Vance wants to lose and I doubt he did this without consulting Trump first. But perhaps Trump wants to lose? Trump has done some self sabotage over the years like his infamous quote to Bob Woodward about COVID.

In any case it's purely a political concern. Both Biden and Harris are plainly equally brain dead and just as obviously both figureheads for the same faction of the cabal. It makes no practical difference, unless they just want her in place so she can curtail some of the more nakedly destructive policies and make herself look better than Biden.

Nah, I said it earlier in the thread... They want to run against Kamala, but they're worried about another shift in candidate at the convention. They know the Kamala thing is going to go bust - the media and talking heads can promote her now, but it'll all fall apart once she has to think on her feet.
She'll flub some interview or questions somewhere and then there will be a break of some Dems questioning whether she's really the best nominee to beat Trump. And then others will join. They'll start to talk about making it an open convention to allow the delegates to "vote their conscience in the most democratic way to ensure democracy". That's when the sleeper comes in (I'm STILL saying Michelle, but Hillary or even Susan Rice will do) to be drafted. All of this will happen in the next month.
The GOP knows that Kamala will have a better chance at the convention if she's the incumbent. They also know that the Dems are unlikely to invoke the 25th, but it puts pressure on them to keep defending Kamala. You can trust that the political consultants on the GOP side have recommended this strategy.

There is potential that Biden's health issues reach a point where this could happen and wouldn't even be controversial (e.g. he goes into a coma).

I think its better for the country. Biden is NOT able to do anything. 4 more months of senility at the head of the most powerful country on earth ?
That's not a partisan issue. Even if you dislike Kamala, she is better than Biden who lost his marbles.

Meh. Harris never had any to lose. Six of one, half a dozen of the other. Never in the country's history has the president more obviously been a puppet, and Kamala would have the same people yanking the strings.

It's really quite a conundrum when it comes to keeping Biden in office or not. By having him resign, Kamala gets to become president and then gets to run as the incumbent giving her a much need boost.
